Im done....

I used protools once....could never get my head around it after starting with ableton and then going on to sonar.Eventually i just cracked and bought in my own laptop with sonar, took all the wavs from the source folder put em all on position and redid all automation. Took me ages but I got the mix done and I have never once looked back on Tools.

I can't get my head around Abelton Live at all. I find it quite clumsy as a program actually. :puke:

ProTools doesn't need 'cracking'. If you have an interface the software supports you just download the program and put in a valid serial. There is no elaborate protection scheme beyond the hardware dongle and serial.

Re: the issue here. Have you tried booting the session on another PT rig? Have you tried loading some of your auto-backups? Try to work out whether the session itself is corrupt or your installation of ProTools.

Yes... very true. But there is a few cracked serials and even some other cracks that have allowed HD and LE to run with other hardware... but they are extremely unstable and obviously very unpopular.

Sometimes they pop up though.

In any case, like i said and a few other peeps. Trash your databases from ALL connected and or associated drives and maybe even your prefs and if you can, ditch any cracked plugs. You'll likely run alot smoother...

I will admit however that my HD setup has been rather buggy and crash prone (once or twice a day) since upgraded i my machine, got an expansion chasis and went to 8.

Im hoping a software update will fix that soon... just gotta find time to do it.

how much RAM do you have in your comp dude?

That's what I was about to ask. If you have too many plug-ins running, your bounce WILL crash during processing. This is especially true with VSTs. A way around this is to record tracks with many high-cpu-usage plugins onto audio tracks, thus doing away with the plug-ins.

However if your whole system is crashing, it's possible that there's a more serious problem.

+1

What he said...he just took my question and gave you the reasoning for asking that question, also, make sure you leave a copy of the original somewhere with a few notes on the settings u used just incase you wanna go back to it

to me it wouldnt make much sense to crack pro tools cuz doesnt it not run without the interface? and doesnt the interface COME WITH pro tools? i know that ur talking about the plugs but i saw this asked a few posts earlier and thought about it for a second

I dont have the cracked waves bundle. In fact, I dont even use waves software lol

The problem isn't just with bouncing, it with everything. Its getting worse and worse. Now it just randomly stops playback or recording and making a VERY loud annoying noise in my monitors and the windows error message pops up.

I also tried making a new project with the consolidated wavs. Still no luck. Even with absoulutely NO plugins running in the session.

I have 4gb RAM in my comp.

And for the record I have a m-audio 1814 that did not come with PT that why I used my friends copy. But there are plenty of m-audio interfaces that dont sell w/ PT.

I remember I had a similar problem a long time ago and after doing some research, I found out that fucking IE 8 was causing PT to fuck up. The only difference is when that happened PT wouldn't boot up at all. But I have a feeling its something god damn ridiculous like that

M-Powered is the exception here. You don't get M-Powered with your M-Audio hardware per se...

oh ok so if u buy like a fasttrack or something then all ur getting is the interface and no software?

It really depends on the product/bundle...

Some sort of (scaled down) DAW is usually included, mostly Ableton Live Lite.

But with M-Powered, you either need to buy it bundled with your hardware or to buy it separately. Which is 250,- $ for M-Powered 8.

oh ok...i have pro tools and an mbox already but was just confused on the post where they said pt was cracked...thanks for the info man
