It's thrash metal. So far we just recorded drums and a scratch guitar track, so it's still in it's beginning stage. I still have some editing to do, but it's turning out pretty good so far.

:flame:

Edit: I'm nearly done mixing and recording their stuff. Overall I think it's turned out amazing, definitely the best mixes I've ever done. They have 5 other songs, and someone else will probably master them. Let me know if you think there could be any improvements!

edit: mp3 taken down

thanks guys!

Aw godammit Dan, I came here to apologize for taking so long to listen to this and try to redeem myself, and you removed the mp3! Bastard  :D

i took it down because the band (who is signed to a label) had thought a friend they knew was going to leak some of their material before it was released! so naturally i figured they would be upset if they found i posted a song of theirs online.

if it interests any of you , pm me

Hey Dan, I managed to snag this song before you took it down (again) :D Let's see, first off, I really dig the drums, Slate stuff going on here? Snare and kick are sounding good, and the cymbals have a good balance IMO (though maybe a bit loud when that crash comes in in the right channel, if not a matter of volume, than panning). The singer reminds me of Jesse David Leach when he does his "speak-screaming" (e.g. "You will see past the illusion"), except he does it for all the vox, so :erk: But not like you had any control over that

Guitars work for the style, I suppose, though are a bit on the thin side honestly - I guess the mix is pretty much finished at this point, but godammit, I'm still listening and submitting my opinion, cuz I wanna be a good (internet) friend! Yeah, the guits have a bit of a metallic "clangy" quality to 'em; honestly, if I didn't know better, I'd guess it was a JSX :D But they work in the mix

Wait, that was it? Are you kidding me? 2 minutes and 30 seconds, I guess that's thrash for ya! Bass sounds great, fits really well but is still audible - I totally was gonna guess Sansamp, and then when I scrolled up and read further that confirmed it! What was the ratio of Sansamp to mic'ed track?

Honestly, yeah, besides that one crash cymbal that comes in in the right hand side, I don't think there's much I'd really do to the mix; my complaints with the guitar tone I doubt could be fixed by any eq'ing or anything, so it's just how it is, though maybe a bit more lower mids to beef it up would be nice. Good delay on the solos, overall bravo brother!
