IN FLAMES Clayman Re-recorded 2020

I posted that on Instagram as a test to see if they'd just put anything on that JesterHead page, I figured if they'd put up something that stupid with no obvious link to Clayman, that would make no sense to anybody who doesn't read this forum, they will put up anything. A dangerous game considering some pictures that could be posted with the hashtag and then uploaded with no checks. I'm pretty sure you could tag a porno picture with #CLAYMAN2020 and it would end up on the IF website.

I am somewhat tempted to tag Jesper's quote about "polishing the turd" to see if they upload it... but sadly I'm not that immature :D

Lol. I just can't. Don't feel motivated enough. But I'm willing to know what will happen.

I was able to.avoid this kind of ankward situations. Everytine we went shopping together I was constantly repeating "I'm bored. When are we leaving?"

Now she does the shopping on her own.

What I find more annoying than shopping itself is accumulation of unnecessary clutter in the house. Thankfully she's picked up selling at flea markets over the past few years now, that evens out things quite a bit.

Me neither. But 15 years ago, back in the Everdying days I would've done that in a heartbeat. :D

A few pages back there was some discussion about how long IF can keep going. I remember Björn saying in 2014 that there hasn't been any talks of disbanding or plans to stop after [x] more years/albums. And that he personally hopes IF still exists after another 20 years. But I can't really imagine a 61 y/o Anders Fridén singing "the older I get the younger I feel" on stage. Then again, both Björn and Anders have stated they don't want to go back to a "normal" job, so I figure they plan on continuing as long as there's a demand for their music.

Lol yeah, even 6-7 years ago I might have done it as at the time I was extremely annoyed with Anders for some of his comments and Siren Charms as a whole. Nowadays though I'd feel bad, so I think random meme photo of Slave's avatar being knocked out by Lunar Strain is my limit :D

I'm not really sure where IF goes from here in all honesty. ITM was OK but might be their limit as far as producing a metal album is concerned. It feels like Bjorn has largely been out of ideas since SOAPF and Anders is probably also at his limit as a vocalist with autotune. I think even hoping for another SOAPF is unlikely now, as that album is nearly a decade old and there's no way Howard Benson could ever replicate that production.

What's amazing is that I can spend hours in a comic or record store. I just hate buying clothings

It’s nice that Anders and Bjorn can make a living off of the band, but on the other hand, I feel that makes you lose that down-to-earth state of mind that keeps you honest about your own music. Your livelihood depends on the marketability of your work in that case. Pretty sure the members of AtG and DT all still have day jobs.

I’m not huge about it, but thats just me. Maybe I would do the same thing, were I in their position.

I always saw Anders’ broadening of the In Flames brand to include beer and fashion (the Clayman label that he promotes on IG, specifically) to be preparation for retirement from performing music.

I'm not sure exactly when it was that IF were able to live off their music, but I'm guessing around R2R/STYE era. I read an interview from 2000 where Bjorn mentioned he still worked at a music store and Daniel taught foreign languages, so definitely not at that point. Even then he was saying "if people don't like our music then too bad, we write what we want to hear" - so I think that's been their mentality throughout. I think they were stung by the criticism in some quarters to Clayman, and especially Reroute, and after that just stopped giving a shit about what the fans said or thought.

I don't really see In Flames as a relevant metal band anymore. SC/Battles were missteps and ITM isn't breaking any new ground, even though it's better than the two albums that came before it. I would be fine with them not releasing any more albums and just touring from this point onwards. The only time I'd really want to hear a new album from them would be if somehow they managed to get Jesper, Peter and Daniel back into the fold for one last hurrah. That's probably impossible though considering the bad blood between Anders & Jesper - and without Jesper the magic ingredient isn't there.

Meanwhile on the IF website...

Bottom right hand corner :D I'm done. Forum has peaked.
Wow, that's humbling to be honest. Fucking LS :D

But yeah, as far as I know, you can't really vet this. Our government's "child party" tried to make some movement on instagram with #somethingsomething, basically about a Hungarian author and your favorite quotes from him. Well, the opposition flooded their instagram with anti-government shit, and they couldn't censor it.

I have to admit when I saw that picture on their page this morning it gave me my first good laugh in a while :D literally every other picture is related to Clayman somehow, then this random, stupid picture which has nothing to do with it and would make zero sense to anyone outside this forum. Beautiful.

As for vetting I am not sure on this. I mean, it should be possible for the IF webmaster to be able to screen out anything they don't want on there. Somebody could post some really grotesque shit and tag #CLAYMAN2020 and then it would be displayed for all to see on inflames.com. It seems like a bad idea.

I actually think they might be vetting it as there are way more #CLAYMAN2020 tagged posts on Instagram than appears on that page. So why they would let that random picture through is a mystery to me.

While it's not clayman, I would just interpret it as IF kicking anime's ass, because IF is metal as fuck, and anime is gay. Which is still kinda weird, because I don't think there's a beef between the metal community and anime :D

Well, that's certainly a message our good friend Krofi-kun would get behind. Maybe he's the IF webmaster  would answer a few questions for sure.

Anime is what? Anime is the metal of animation.
