In Flames - Soundtrack To Your Escape

way better than rtr, worse than everything before clayman.

what does the old lady say at the start of "f(r)iend"? "should i think [or say?] the most haunting question is, 'why does the world suck?'"?

Hey, it's Unregistered. Haven't seen you here in a while.

STYE sucks hard, as does everything In Flames has done for a while.

have you ever thought that people might have, you know, different taste?

I could ask the same thing of you. In Flames fans in particular have this habit of using "You're closed-minded" as an argument aginst those who call out the Kings of Gaythenburg on their general suckitude. Don't take that silly "We're being oppressed by the opinions of the metal mainstream" stance...In Flames IS the metal mainstream. That's not a knock on them, as Nevermore and Judas Priest are the metal mainstream too, and they're fucking KRIEG. But it's perfectly acceptable for us to dislike In Flames without you throwing a "You guys just don't want to admit people like the album!" bitch fit.

In conclusion, Vader owns you all. And I'm done.

.......

what the fuck are you talking about? did I even imply any of that in my little post?

my point was that just because someone says they like RTR better, unless they explain exactly why, then there is no reason to regard that post as a "bad sign", especially if they are an idiot that loved RTR like me.... my post is useless to them.

Yes, that's clearly what you implied. "You don't Reroute To Remain, therefore you are closed-minded." Your post above explains what you mean, but we aren't inside your head; the initial post says something a lot different from that.

My post is also, if you read it, a general indictment of In Flames fans who use that argument, as opposed to you specifically. I may have lashed out a bit, but that's because I am extremely sick of people riding that tired old horse.

THAT IS FUCKING BULLSHIT.

I have never, ever, ever, EVER said anything or implied anything along the lines of that. the "some people have different tastes" post was me saying, you shouldn't immeidately take my post saying that i liked RTR better as immediately implying STYE is gonna suck, because i had a general disagreement with people on RTR.... i like the experimentation, while most (especially the people that hate RTR) want a return to the "gothenburg melodeath sound". VERY DIFFERENT. I can't fucking believe you have the NERVE to even imply that I said anything closely resembling, "You don't Reroute To Remain, therefore you are closed-minded." Absolute BULLSHIT.

Awfully defensive there, old boy.

That's what an implication is–you didn't say it outright. It apparently wasn't intentional, but when you reply to a criticism of an album with "Have you ever considered that people might have different musical tastes?" that is a clear accusation of closed-mindedness on the part of the critics. If you didn't mean that, then you oughta work on saying what you mean. How is any human being supposed to derive that whole paragraph you just posted from a sarcastic one-liner on musical taste, especially considering the context?

As I explained, the second part of the post was "a general indictment of In Flames fans who use that argument," and if you think there aren't any, you've been living under a rock.

Nice NP, btw. Katatonia has almost all the elements I hate in metal, but somehow they manage to be awesome. NP: Passing Bird.

I don't think you know what you're saying.

i said that. if anything, that's obviously a statement supporting the fact that people have the right to feel however they want about an album. even if i didn't use that in that exact context. you don't think I know that?

of course i am getting defensive. I say some little thing that is just a fact about music in general, and you somehow fucking assume that I am some piece of shit that considers someone "closed minded if they don't like a certain album"..... where the FUCK do you get that from? that little statement of mine wasn't even referring to anything along the lines of "you are closed minded, blah blah blah"..... to explain it YET AGAIN, because you clearly aren't getting it, I said that I have a different taste than most in that I prefer experimentation on RTR rather than "a return to the roots gothenburg death metal album". how, how, HOW is saying that i have radically different taste than most when it comes to IF the same thing as "you people are closed minded if you don't like this, blah blah blah". Simply put, what YOU think I was IMPLYING there is so far fetched and pulled out of nowhere its about as broad as calling Nevermore a nu-metal band because they have a guitarist and drummer.

DONT ever make such a broad and bullshit assumption about me based on nearly nothing.

Man, I have seen a lot of people taking comments on the internet personally, but you have thrown one of the most nitpicky bitch fits I have borne witness to. You said something that was extremely unclear, and I interepreted it to its most obvious meaning. That's the logical progression of replying to criticism of an album with a snide comment about people having different musical taste. As for the rest, you seem to have missed once again that I was critcizing a broad group of people, not you in particular.

So I'm sorry I misinterpreted your comment. Perhaps you should practice your clarity. And while you're at it, calm down. A lot. It's not good for your blood pressure.
