"In The Studio" Videos

I dont listen to Behemoth much, but holy crap. That bass tone is so heavy, crunchy, crispy, and clear. And its actually turned up pretty loud in the mix! unless they just boosted it for that one clip during the bass tracking.

When my drone doom-jazz duo records next month we will be doing some studio videos.
FUCKING NEVE DESKS \m/
gonna try and get lots of gear porn in there and meaty production details as well as the typical goofyness :D

Well fortunately there's "The Apostasy" (their previous album), where it's pretty prominent and sounds just as awesome IMO!

I love watching studio diary vids, I just wish they wouldn't cut out so much, like preproduction and working the boards, some samples of mixing the sang and maybe just the members shooting the shit in between recording. But most of the time, all you get is the bands in the studio, talking about recording and a few quick bits of actual recording.

OT: regarding Evangalion, the guitars are great. Yes they have a different sound from the stereotypical "metal" sound. they are not harsh, have a lot of clarity and warmth. While they are not as aggressive they blend and separate from the mix so well and just allow you to hear so much going on without the buzzsaw noise that is generally created from typical guitar tone. They don't have the general 5150 or recto sound, but what tone is there really is special for that album, they really fits it well.

best part is when Adam is talking about how crazy it is to do a full length 2 weeks!!!!
But IMO killing with a smile is one of Adams best productions so far

i like horizons a LOT more. and although its a tad quiet, its one of my favourite productions of all time.

Alot of people prefer horizons over killing with a smile.

I like killing with a smile more because of the:
Better songs
More depth in the productions (überbrütal guitar sound)
and a very different but great drumsound

in my opinion it's nowhere near as clear, and the drums dont cut through anywhere near as much. i just prefer how everything sits in the mix better. and i like both songs equal :)
