Industrial music?

Anybody much into industrial metal?

I've been wondering in this genre would ever really take off.

I've been around a while. Got into Godflesh in the late 80's, then Pitch Shifter, Treponem Pal...

Later, in the 90's got into stuff like In Slaugher Natives, Puissance, Diabolos Rising.

The Diabolos Rising was great- industrial black metal. But I got out of touch and don't know if anything really happened to make that a real genre.

Also, just lately, for various reasons, I've gotten into Laibach - well, their Electro Industrial stuff anyway (both their self titled ones, Slovenska Akropola, Nova Akropola, Neu Konservatiw, Wat) - and I'd think more metal fans who like industrial would clearly like this stuff - but never really hear Laibach mentioned in metal places.

Any opinions?

By the way, I am a real person - my avatar is a pic of me - and if you don't think I'm real - check out my profile, let me try to convince you, because I am real.

I really dig Skinny Puppy. I'd have to look more into the genre because I honestly don't know enough about it.

Godflesh are great. I didn't delve too far beyond them, Pitch Shifter never excited me much. Christbait were a good mix of industrial, metal and stoner rock.

I think Ministry and (if they count) Fear Factory are the only industrial metal I've seriously listened to. Ministry's pretty badass, though really hard to listen to. Fear Factory's pretty meh.

PitchShifter `industrial is my favorite Industrial Metal album.

other favorites

Godflesh `selfless
Fear Factory `demanufacture, obsolete, soul of a new machine.
Static-X `wisconsin death trip,machine,cannibal,shadow zone

Deathstars are irritating because that same band used to be swordmaster and they were an ace thrash/black metal band.

This should probably be in non-metal?

But anyway, yes. I am a fan of the industrial/ebm/darkwave/electronic music: Accessory, Assemblage 23, Funker Vogt, Ministry, Wumpscut, Skinny Puppy, Das Ich, VNV Nation, Godflesh, etc.

Also, Malformed Earthborn were pretty cool. I'm not sure how many of you have heard this but it's worth a listen.

Industrial is a sub genre of Metal just like Power, Death, Thrash, Progressive and all the others.
