I wish we could get a sticky here of properly setting up your guitar for recording. Since recording has to be as perfect as we can get it, hence tuning every few takes. Is there anyone here willing to maybe do a video or if not anyone have links to video footage of how to properly set your guitar up especially intonation?

I think there are plenty of videos online of doing this already. A quick youtube search will show you.

Only thing I can add is, use a good strobe tuner. It does make a difference. And for drop tunings, use bigger strings. Otherwise you will never get the intonation right.

I don't have a video camera, but in brief. If you have a floyd, get the The Key. It's nearly impossible otherwise.

Otherwise, move all the saddle all the way back. Tune. Hit a 12th fret harmonic, then fret the 12th. If its sharp and you're all the way back you're S.O.L. It should be flat though, in which case move the saddle forward until it fret the same note as the 12th fret harmonic.

I have a Schecter C1 with a 10mm fixed bridge and the saddles are a the end of the bridge but still sharp. So I have to buy a 13mm bridge (actually they are all 13mm)
