Jan Axel Hellhammer receives tons of great press, but is he really that good? I just dont see it. He can't compare to someone like Neil Peart.
Am I crazy? or is he simply over=rated?

shut up you cockmuncher, no one cares about your pitiful attempts to be opinionated. The Subjugator said:The only good album he ever played on was "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas".

He would be listenable with a good drum sound imo. I'm not into the type writer clicky/ plastic sound. I like when drums sound like drums. Sometimes I can deal with fake sounding drums but hellhammer takes it to far.
The last time i heard Nick Barker, i think it was just the bass drums that were triggered. And Hellhammer does trigger a lot, it sounds so wierd live.DeathsSweetEmbrace said:Can't decide who leans on their triggers more, Hellhammer or Nick Barker.
He is over hyped, but not quite overrated. He actually comes up with some interesting rhythmic patterns.

Trym has good stamina. I havent been that impressed with Horghs work in Immortal, but i dont know about Hypocrisy.MasterOLightning said:I don't think he's especially overrated. Very few people mention him in the best drummer thread. Trym is probably a bit overrated. Horgh is underrated. He's the best drummer to come out of the scene that I've heard so far.
