Is it just me or...?

i imagine that when i do eventually visit israel and the surrounding region, i wont be meeting OL or there wont be any shows scheduled but thats ok because i've wanted to check that place out since before I ever heard about Orphaned Land. Actually, it was my interest in the region that prompted me to find out whether or not there were any metal bands happening in the area, and thats how i found out about OL and Melechesh.

I have been to Israel 3 times now and am about to make a 4th trip. I can see how it's totally weird to see this happening with a band that is from your 'neighbourhood' I must admit that OL was the reason I came to Israel first, but when I got there, I found that I feel very much a thome and so I kept returning. Also because I'm friends with the band ( I am not mentioning this to boast, but to explain)
For me it was always a wish to go to Israel, because I have always been interested in archeology, history, the Middle East. What better place to start than Israel? It is an interesting and beautiful country and for me also a start to get to know the rest of the region.

Returning to your initial point, the one about everyone coming to Israel. Same here, I mean I know some Dutch bands personally and to me it's weirtd that friends are known all over the world and people travel from all over to see their shows. Take Epica for example: about 2 weeks ago they had a show in Amsterdam and there where fans present from the USA even!

I think you should consider OL the best advertising that Israel has at the moment. They deliver a postive message and challenge people to look at Israel with different eyes and see beyond the usual newspaper items about politics.

This is a big, big, big truth.
I admit that before the discovery of Orphaned Land I didn't have the best opinion about Israel (the state, not the land or the people).
Now the things have changed. The remarkability of this band made me to see Israel by a different point of view. I didn't understand how has happened. Just happened!
And of course, the will of attending an Orphaned Land concert is a big reason to visit this country sometime.

OL is for me the best ambassador of peace, they created a community with people from all around the world ( Muslims,Jews, Christians, ....) these poeple are often in conflict but in a land terrified by hate, violence, a light emerged from shadow and it's OL! that's why I'm proud to spread the message and and open people eyes !

I also want to go visiting Israel for his culture, his history and because of my love for the Middle-East too It must be great to see OL in front of his first audience

You are all right. OL shows how you can connect people from different countries with the help of music. Esp. when there main fan base is in Turky, and they have fans in other Islam countries. It shows that none of us are different from one each other. We all like the same things and that can unite us together. No matter what your religion is. That's the way the world should be.

I'm actually working in this way with people from different countries
if you want to know more about it yoshitsune_1@hotmail.com

I can understand how its wierd like when I was in New Zealand seeing Orphaned Land was the biggest deal ever (and it still is) but then I go to Tel Aviv and I see fucking Uri in the metal shop and he works there! For me this is like the biggest deal ever, when I met them I couldn't even talk but all the Israelis who knew them were just casual and whatever and I was like fanboy5000.

Deadly Rose please tell me that isn't a Him signature?

I just love wordplay
just learned a new thing about japanese culture:kickass:

Ollo San, how true are the things you say.
Through Orphaned Land my eyes were opened to a different world. A world where I can be in touch with (metal) people from diverse cultures and backgrounds. The fact that this band is Israeli makes it even better, because they come from a country surrounded by such controversy.
I am proud to say I support a band, their music and their ideas when it has such a positive effect on so many peoples lives.
