is paypal safe?

hello guys!
I'm planning on buying some stuff from ebay . I've notice a lot of sellers prefer paypal payment..
i was wondering- have any of you who used this option before had any problems? they ask for bank account and credit card no' ..is that safe??

I use it all of the time, but I suggest installing a firewall before using it. The transactions themself are safe, but the problem comes in after you buy stuff. Hackers will try and get your credit card number and E-Bay password off of YOUR computer. A firewall will keep that from happening. Unless you have a firewall, I wouldn't make any online transactions, especially if you have a static IP (cable modem or any connection where you are online al of the time.)

I would also suggest not saving your passwords to your browser and close the browser after you have finished your transaction. So far I have had no troubles with pay pal.
