The one thing I loved about Fear Factory was Burton's vocals and the drumming. Dino was ok but I'll never put him on a great guitarist list. Nevertheless my fav is and always will be Demanufacture!
In general I've always enjoyed Anthrax's riffs and always rated Scott Ian as a good Guitarist. He was certainly one of the best players during Thrash's heyday in the 80s.
Michael Romeo of Symphony X. That guy can do some hella-riffs. Amazing speed and accuracy. His solos are damn impressive, too, but I think Ron Jarzombek (Watchtower, Spastic Ink) does better solos. Johan Reinholdz (spelling?) of Andromeda is another awesome guitarist.
1.) Scott has a heavy fucking picking hand. He literally looks like a jackhammer or a tattoo gun hitting the strings. As for solos, that's him on "Cowboy Song." I'm not sure if he soloed on "Watching You" as well.
YES, Scott is an amazing guitarist. Tony Iommi may have wrote all the riffs in heavy metal, but Scott figured out how they should sound. March of the S.O.D., greatest riff ever played, period. Scott's often imitated, never duplicated and always evolving.
Hi Brentney S.!
I agree with you that "March of the S.O.D." is the greatest riff ever played, fu***n brutal. S.O.D. is the only band that can blow Anthrax away!
