Of those, i've only listened to Red Sparowes. They're definately good. I'll have to look the rest up

same at the soundless dawn is a reallly good album.

the first part of the first song is one of my favourite moments in music. same with some other part on the cd..

I was really trying to holdout and not dl this one. That lasted about 6 hours. It's an amazing album in my opinion and I can't wait til Halloween to buy the real thing. And if Tool and them ever decide to come to the Southeast, I'll be right there.

I've got the leaked version... personally I think its really good, don't know who would consider it to suck, its prime atmospheric sludge.

i wouldnt call it phenomonal..i think their last album was phenomonal..this one is just a little less GOOD if that makes sense. i dunno really..

the last album was amazing, i guess this is just a bit of a disappointment. CANT WAIT TO SEE THEM ON SATURDAY THOUGH.

picked up clearing the eye at the concert last night. they were awesome but they only played 4 songs. :( none of the crowd really got into them, and half the people didnt arrive till tool were going to be on.

What was the set? I think they've been playing Dulcinea, but that's all I know. How's the DVD, as well?

I listened to so much Isis today. Oceanic, The Red Sea, Sawblade EP, and Mosquito Control, and In The Absence of Truth. :kickass:

I have never heard Isis, what are they like?

A lot of people tend to put them into a new genre called post-metal, which usually features long, ambient songs that bring about emotion through the instruments more so than the vocals. Other bands put in this genre include Pelican and Cult of Luna, so if you've heard either of them, you'll know what to expect.

Isis's Myspace

Does post metal have any simalarities to post rock? Cause I love post rock. And I am checking out the myspace sight right now, thank you for the link.

I'd say that post-rock and post-metal are similar in the sense that they tend to have long songs with little to no lyrics and use the music as the means for conveying emotion.

Good stuff.

Post-metal is much or less the same as post-rock... just heavier! Unlike some bands (pelican for instance), isis do actually have vocals. It's best to listen, the music says it all

Speaking of Isis and the subject of post-metal and post-rock check out Red Sparowes, memembers of Isis are in it and they are an incredible instrumental bands that fuse most rock and metal together so to speak. Great stuff.
