Its Confirmed Metallica Are Coming Here For Big Day Out!!!

You all to remember that those setlists were used before the release of St Anger - which partly means they were used as propaganda and promotion.
Now that St Anger is out, there's little need to pretend the band has 'returned to thrash'.

I'd be betting that once they hit the road in support of the album, we'll see a lot more material from s/t - Reload. However, we are talking about Metallica here and not Maiden, so it's highly probable that the set will change considerably over the period of the tour, and you might get lucky and be there when they skip the recent material and only play the heavy shit.

The gigs they have been using those setlists for have just been smaller club shows that they have been doing to warm up for the tour. I am sure they will throw in some more stuff from St Anger and maybe a little more stuff from s/t when they do the stadium tour and come over here, but it is still great to see them playing the older stuff.

With setlists, Maiden usually do a whole tour without tinkering the set much, they might change a song here and there. Metallica usually mix and match alot of their stuff, and will play three songs from Kill 'Em All one night, and three different songs from that album the next night, for example. :)

The reason I would wanna go to the BDO is because I think they will play a different set at a festival environment, to people who aren't exactly fans, than they would at their own gig. I might be completely wrong of cause. :)

I'd be thinking at The Big Day Out, they'd be playing more of they're well known crap. The sort of stuff the losers that go to such a festival (and don't buy albums) are familiar with from the radio..

That's ok dude. According to all modern hollywood fiction, the loser get the girl. That's all that really matters. :)
