Not really funny, just puzzling. I don't get it. He just seems to play the "Traditional" Drumkit layout. Not sure if he hit any of the 37 Toms on the left.

You just picked out 2 videos where he doesn't use them. In a lot of clinic type settings he indeed doesn't use them.

But he's a very different drummer than most drummers out there. All the toms on his left are tuned to specific notes, so he can play both rhythmicly and harmonic.

I've seen him twice perform with the support of an Symphonic Orchestra, and on those performances he used ALL his drums. The stuff he's playing in that video doesn't really require the tuned toms. But his kit is just as legendary as himself, so it just NEEDS to be there. Sometimes it's the kit alone that makes people come and watch this guy.

I got the first volume of his book "Melodic Drumming and the Ostinato", amazing stuff in there!
