I've been on a late 80's thrash/speed kick lately... craving some more shit I haven't heard yet. Don't state the obvious.

I'm probably the wrong person to ask, but I did you a favor and found some stuff you may or may not like.

Num Skull?

I'll have to check out an album. Liked the track I listened to on Myspace.

That "Vulture" vid was pretty cool. Aura Noir is a definitive band to me, so yeah... And I have the Vesen full length and one of the demo's... decent death/black/thrash stuff they do. As for that Detente, that didn't catch me at all. BUT... I think I have one of their albums or a compilation with something from them (like, more than a few tracks) laying around somewhere. I'll have to give it a relisten.

KEEP EM COMING!

you might have heard a few of these already but heres some good stuff that isn't super mainstream or popular
Carnivore - Retaliation
Blind Illusion - The Sane Asylum
Defender - A Symbol Of Devotion
Devastation - Idolatry (technically 1991 so not late 80s and not exactly speed metal but fuck its so good i had to list it in the small chance you hadn't heard it)
Stone - Stone
Wargasm - Why Play Around
Sentinel Beast - Depths Of Death
Sacrilege B.C - Party With God
Faith Or Fear - Punishment Area
Evildead - Annihilation of Civilization
Impact - Take the Pain

I live for thrash and I haven't heard of this... what is it? And where the hell can I get it. And by the way, Blind Illusion kicks ass, I have that album on vinyl.

Yeah, Blind Illusion was amazing. Love just turning my subwoofer all the way up and hearing the insane bass parts that Les put into some of that shit. Really hard to hear in the mix sometimes, but it's there.

There are a couple on that list I need to take a look at... adding them to my list.

the rest of their albums are pretty good but Idolatry is an amazingly heavy great album. check out some songs on their myspace, i think it just got re-released or something and they're on tour so it shouldn't be hard to find

I can't believe I forgot Evildead.

Surprised no one mentioned Demolition Hammer yet.

I approve of Stone despite the cringeworthy vocalstyle. The music however fucking rocks.

Stone Cold Soul

edit:
This song is on their 1990's album Colours, but whatever.

With the exception of Grim Reaper, those are some good examples of what not to post! Loudness and Keel are 2 reasons I tend to force myself to forget metal even existed in the 80's...

And none of the 3 are thrash or speed, dammit!

I would've but pretty much everyone knows Demolition Hammer and along with Exhorder and Epidemic they were more heavy and kinda groovy thrash, not what i would put in a thread for someone asking for speed/thrash. i do love the above mentioned bands very much so though.

My bad then. I was recently introduced to Demolition Hammer, so yeah.
