i've decided to devote my life to the lord

I don't know, maybe I am going to get my head chewed off for this, but... are you all seriously saying that because someone choses to belong to a religious faith, and follow it, and make it a part of their every day lives and set of beliefs makes them less intelligent than someone who does not? Maybe that's not what most of you are saying, and I love you all dearly, so I am not looking for an argument.

But I don't think just because Emily belonged to youth groups, and is a "Catholic" (if that is what you are, I apologize if I am wrong, I can't remember), makes her any less intelligent than someone who is non-religious, or doesn't practice his or her religion. Using her as an example, I think she is perfectly intelligent.

It's not my choice. But I am not going to knock someone's intelligence or integrity for making a different decision than I have. Especially recently with choosing to keep my baby I've been called "stupid", "foolish" and "retarded" mostly because my decision wouldn't have been their decision. So fucking what?

Live and let live.

Yes, I know there is a great deal of violence in this world due to "religious choices", but... Emily isn't an extremist, is she? Nope.

Anyway, I'm in sort of a mood tonight, so I apologize if I have offended anyone, I mean absolutely no harm by it. I just don't think your "faith" affects your intelligence. Psychotic radical born again Christians just so happen to also be ignorant, doesn't mean they are stupid BECAUSE of their religion. That's just my worthless opinion.

SHE BACKED UP CHRISTIANITY! LETS GET HER!

Just kidding. Don't be sorry, express that opinion with pride my friend! :)

That would be very stupid since intelligence doesn't rule out idiocy at all. It's more a questions of character...

It's not necessarily a matter of intelligence, but rather a matter of critical thinking, reason, indoctrination, fear, a need to believe our lives are not meaningless, social acceptance and a need to belong.

To blame it completely on intelligence is just plain ignorant.

Personally, I think you're all nuts.

I'M GOD

(true story)

BOW TO ME.

Alright friends, I need to get on some homework. But I hope some of ya'll will check this site out. These are highly respected professors, phd's, etc who discuss Christianity (and from an "Old Earth" stand point) from a scientific view based on critical thinking, reason, and well... science.

Right now I'm working on a book called "Who Was Adam", a look into how the Old Earth Christian view of creation as it pertains to the hominid fossil record isn't bullcrap.

Ps. For the record, I don't believe what I do because of some need to feel meaningful and with purpose or fear of a hellish afterlife.

hey, there might be a God (and if there is im sure he is ashamed of his followers[of all religions]), but if you believe the earth is 6000 years old you should get fitted for your helmet because you're a goddamn retard.

::bows down to Tyler::

Anyway, I am in a much better mood now, I am not sure why, I just drank some green tea... and ate some peanut butter toast. All is well.

I picked up my new car today.

I am in love with him already. I will post a photo soon, well tomorrow when it's light out so I can photograph him. He is a new, black PT Cruiser, I have named him William Blake. I did some cruising around in him earlier this evening.

I took my cousin out driving, she just got her permit. It was cute, I am the first one to have taken her out drivin'. She did a good job, it was definitely adorable.

I think there are generally two kinds of spiritual followers: those who can't or don't want to accept that there isn't something bigger than the sum of the parts and those that simply utilize a system of believes for much more profane matters. (The second kind is usually spawned by organized religions.)

Do we have "pure" atheists here? Their POV is stubborn and small minded in the end, too.
