J-bass replacement pickups?

I'll likely get EMG DC40s in my custom bass down the track, so this is more of a trial and error type thing - to find pickups which sound good, albeit a touch different to the regular EMG thing.

Out of the Delanos and Quarter Pounders, which are more likely to sound 'hi-fi'? ie. Attenuated mid-bass and low-mid junk - maximum sub and clank?

The QPs are not at ALL hi-fi and sub-ish, they're in fact, pretty much standard rock pickups, agressive mids, not very brightish, not so much low end. If you want the EMG sound, there's only one way around it imo

Quarter Pounders rule. Reasonable price and they sound amazing. Used to have the P bass one in a Fender Precision and it sounded great.

Lots of good options though, look at Bartolini as well.

So, basically we're saying that the Delanos are so good that they reveal how inherently shit the Fender basses are? Just trying to wrap my head around fidelity not being good thing in context of bass. I've got no personal parallel to draw form there.
