Jackson dinky DK2

I'm about to order one of these;

I absolutely love the way it looks.

Anyone have any experience with these guitars? I'm mainly wondering about the build quality, whether it stays in tune long enough, whether the SD JB will fit modern metal and whether the guitar will handle drop tunings well (C sharp).

I'm totally happy with mine! Great build quality for the money and awesome neck. It will handle drop tunings easily.

The pickups are good, although the JB is a love it or hate it thing. I changed it at some point for an alternative 8 and recently switched to EMG 89s.

Overall it's a great playing guitar

I have a DKMG, and I love it. It plays really nicely and has a nice character to it.

I'd recommend it for sure

A friend of mine has a DK2S, not the exact same guitar, but obviously the same series so it's more or less the same instrument just with a fixed bridge and sustainiac pickup.
Well built instruments that have great playability.
The JB is good but it wouldn't be my first choice for any guitar tuned below D.
For C# and lower, IMO you need something a little tighter.

Thanks for the comments. A pickup swap is indeed something I'll consider in the future, as long as build quality of the guitar itself is fine enough for the money

No the DK series is japanese made, I baught mine two years ago from Thomman, it was a japanese one. But I don't know if they shifted the production.

Given that the price is actually jacked up lately I doubt it...

I had the Dinky with the reverse headstock and emgs. Absolutely loved it. I sold it to get an s-series Ibanez. I regretted it immediately
