JEFF LOOMIS SIG GUITAR!!!!!!!

See, for them to have more options he'd, like, have to be as, you know, cool as... Avenged Sevenfold.

He won't get anywhere with a name like Jeff and no nail polish or eye shadow.

Fucking loser.

...

Jeff

funniest thing you've ever posted.

Is this still going ahead?

I've seen a Loomis sig at a shop down here with the Floyd. I'd love to find one without.

The thing about the "first 200" with Floyds was TOTAL BS. They are being made with Floyds still for 2008, and I'm sure they've sold thousands of them like it. I love mine, it's my favorite guitar ever!

Only the first 200 are going to have the Floyd Rose, everything after that will have a fixed bridge.

I'll ask Jeff again...I don't know if Schecter's plans have changed since I posted that, but it was definitely the initial plan. Obviously if after several months of selling the guitar, Schecter realized that there was a greater demand for the Floyd, they could just decide to manufacture more of them.

Dude, the guitar's been out over a year and they still have Floyds. I'm sure they've sold more than 200. :goggly:

Schecter told me last January that all Loomis sig's were coming with the Original Floyd.

I hear they have some nice new gear for NAMM so lets see what more goodies they have in store for me to peddle to the metal guitarists of London.

I've never seen this thread before, but wow J - you were a real dick back then  And I should mention that I too have zero use for a tone knob, though I like a volume, and one thing I could NEVER live without (though I see how many could) is a neck pickup.

I have the floyd rose model and its pretty much the nicest guitar i've played. The only problem I have with it is the tuners, the thickest string i can fit in it is a 64 which I find pretty weird cos i always hear of people going up to ridiculous guages like .8 on their sevens. Might have to change the tuners (unless I can get them filed, not sure if thats possible) cos I like high tension in the thicker strings.

On the plus side though, the neck is perfect, really smooth and a bit thinner than the C7 hellraiser but still pretty chunky, which I like cos I have big hands. I much prefer flat finishes to shiny ones and this is a real good example of it. The floyd rose stays in tune perfectly even with the most crazy whammy abouse and the pickups are really clear and bright...maybe a bit too bright (thinking of switching the bridge model for a SD blackout 7).

Yeah, Loomis himself uses a 70 or so last I checked. Although my Blackjack takes 70s and 80s without a problem, I did have to unwind a good chunk of the outer wrap to fit through.

I know you don't consider them peers in terms of skill; nonetheless, I'd call Gates a "guitar owner" if I was to compare him with Loomis.

(PS: Note that I didn't say pwner) :)

Nah I wouldn't bash Gates that hard honestly. He does some killer leads that remind me of Marty Friedman and Alex Skolnick at times, especially in terms of bending and phrasing, and it's killer to hear that kind of playing in a popular band. That element alone legitimizes Avenged Sevenfold to me.

Jeff Loomis is more of a technician and overall a better player, but I really like Synyster Gates' feel and he's one of my favorite guitarists in a current popular band.

I fucking love this solo:
