um, no. I was blatantly taught the theory of evolution in middle school, high school, and in college. It is Creationism that is barred from being taught, due to the "separation of church and state".

I don't know firsthand, obviously because I didn't grow up there, but I was fairly sure that the "Bible belt," of which Texas is not a part of, does NOT teach evolution or Darwinism. It does indeed bring to light the entire hotly debated topic on how life began. Science has proven everything except for the "big bang" - just how on earth did that happen? Strange...
