JMP2203 in love with Beyer m160 (Ribbon)

Yeah, it's great on acoustics, I still prefer the 414 for that most of the time though.
The m160 kills for clean guitars as well

I think I posted a shootout on cello not too long ago, the m160 was great for that as well

Hey Lasse sounds cool. We've got a couple of 160's where I work but Ive always been reluctant to stick one in front of a screaming 4x12 in case I fuck them up!! :guh:

I'll have try one with my 2203 now Ive heard your clips! Where did you place the mic in the clips??

Cheers :kickass:

ps Im sure Eddie Kramer used a 160 and U67 on Hendrix??

You have only to place them at 45° so the air sweeps from top to bottom and it doesn't damage the ribbon

Cheers ::XeS:: Yeah, I guessed it would be somewhere along those lines I was just curious how far away from the speaker the mic ended up at being a ribbon and all! :kickass:

The m160 can handle to volume just fine.
Mine was about 15• angled on this clip, been using it on axis quite often as well though.

In this clip the mic was placed like I'd place an sm57
