June 9th DT/DH/Firewind/EBS Show Ticket Info

Divine Heresy was one of the worst bands I've ever heard. I had to go downstairs their set. Firewind was fine but the sound wasn't progpower quality and thus a tad disappointing but enjoyed it. Stayed for about 30 minutes of Dark Tranquility and I thought they were really good and as the set went on their sound got better. But I had to sleep.

We want to thank all of you that made it out this past evening. We weren't really that disappointed we got cut short--We were just glad to have the opportunity to begin with.

Thanks to all of you that bought tickets from us. We are happy to announce that we will be on the October 11th Kamelot show in Atlanta at the Masquerade.

We'll have tickets at the Wednesday night ProgPower Pre-Show!
Way to go, Patrick! See you on Saturday night!

I never did see you last night. Did you arrive in time to catch EBS?

If not, are you going to make it up to Marietta this weekend?

For only getting to play 4 songs, EBS sure got the crowd going. SOS killed the momentum with their brilliant lyrical prowess, but Firewind managed to get things back on track with an awesome set (which wasn't much longer than EBS's). We weren't interested in seeing DH or DT, so we split a few songs into DH's set.

As expected, Dark Tranquillity blew away every band on the bill. A few sound problems at first, but that isn't their fault so they can't be blamed. Very high energy and Mikael proved once again that he is the best frontman in metal. It sucks that they cut Icipher from their set but I can't complain about the rest of the setlist.

Divine Heresy sucked ass. I'm not a fan of the band but they were just awful. They had a lot of energy, sure, but their music is just bad. I might have enjoyed them more if their vocalist wasn't constantly standing on my hands and arms trying to jump onto the barricade.

Firewind was excellent. They were better than their ProgPower show. Gus G was just incredible to watch.

I hope to god that I never have to see Soldiers of Scrape again. Worst band I've seen and heard in a long time.

Eclipsed by Sanity surprised the hell out of me. Prior to last night, I'd only seen them live for about 2 songs. Last night they showed why they're easily the best power metal band in Atlanta. Great riffs, interesting songs, nice bass work, and awesome vocals. I wouldn't mind seeing them again. All of the people coming down for the pre-party show are in for a treat.

Firewind RULES. That's all there is to it. R-U-L-E-S!!!! Glad I got to see Apollo, love his voice.

Also enjoyed Eclipsed by Sanity. That was my second experience and I definitely thought that being in the studio "tightened" things up a bit. "From Insanity" is an AWESOME song. Good job and looking forward to seeing you again soon!

Well, I guess I'll add my two cents'... EbS did get the crowd going in a very short time and played very well. I keep hearing people say "these guys are going places" and I have to agree. It only served to make the next band look worse. :/ To their credit, it's not that they couldn't play, but the song titles and lyrics went beyond goofy. They will continue to provide comic fodder for a long time. I will say this: they have balls (either that or a total and complete lack of a sense of irony). Firewind was quite good IMO, even better with Apollo at the mic than they were at ProgPower. I didn't notice any issues with the sound myself, but I spent half their set (which means about 15 minutes :b) behind the sound board. Divine Heresy weren't bad IMO, but they just aren't my thing. We split a couple songs into their set and so didn't catch DT at all.

It was, of course, hotter than hell, but not nearly as bad as it's been sometimes I've been there. What they need to do is open the fucking doors on time. Waiting even an extra 5 or 10 minutes out in that heat just don't work well for me or my hair.

Somehow, even though I bought 2 beers for other people, I had a magically low tab of like $11. So, uh, thanks to everyone who bought me a drink and/or to the bartender who couldn't add. :D

It was good seeing everyone, and I hope y'all are all at the show this Saturday. Ice cold fuckin' beer!!!! :kickass:

Missed EbS.

Firewind was good, very enjoyable.

Soldiers of Scrape were fucking TERRIBLE. No matter what their lyrics were, ALL their music sounded like some other band's throw-away riffs.

Missed Divine Heresy.

Dark Tranquillity was good. Not awesome, but good, probably because they just came through a year ago. If I hadn't seen them in a long long time I probably would have enjoyed it more.

Congrats EBS!! Sounds like you did a great job! Wish I could have been there to see it!

Wow, it's kinda strange to read all the bad reviews of SOS. Well, fair enough. Yes their lyrics aren't serious and they are a lot different than the other bands (a weird pairing if you ask me) but maybe they would be better received on a different show. Whatever, too bad. They were a HIT here... then again, this is the Land of Pantera.

Firewind only had a 30 minute set in Dallas too. I thought that was pretty weird (read: "lame"). I guess it's like that on the whole tour. Stinks, but I'll take any chance I can get to see Gus play and hang out with the boys

Last night was AWESOME

Eclipsed By Sanity....I gotta say I thought your myspace songs were just Ok but Patrick, you assured me you were better live. You were right. You guys were amazing. Awesome vocals, the guitar solos were great, your bassist also has a good scream, and a good drummer. The only complaint was throughout the whole night everyone's vocals needed to be turned up, including yours. But it wasn't your fault of course, just the venue's. Also, you guys should of played longer. Soldiers of Scrape SUCKED and I couldn't wait till they got off the stage.

I got some pics. They're not very good but if you want to use them, be my guest. No permission needed here. Take em if you want:

Of course Firewind was awesome.....the solos were flawless. Gus didn't miss a note.

I do not like Divine Heresy on cd at all but live they surprised me. They were really good imo, the music wasn't half bad and they had the most energy of the whole night. The only thing that sucked is the singer's crotch was in my face half the set haha

Of course, Dark Tranquillity stole the show. Mikael got in my face multiple times and I shook every member's hand, except the drummer I think. I went crazy during Punish My Heaven and The New Build. Those were amazing live. My friends had to work in the morning and they said they wanted to leave early but I kindly told them no. I wasn't gonna pay for a ticket and wait for a year to see Dark Tranquillity and leave early. My friend's dad was pissed but I didn't care. He'll get over it.

Great show

Eclipsed By Sanity were great, but Soliders of Scrape SUCKED! Their song titles were Kerry King Rules, Fight For Your Rights, and Ice Cold Fucking Beer (where's my waitress, I'm thirsty.) They were a complete waste of time and thanks in part to them, EBS had a short set and Firewind only played 25 minutes. Firewind was incredible, but I would rather have seen much more of them and none of Soliders of Scrape or Divine Heresy.

Also, if Soliders of Scrape loved metal as much as they said they did they'd QUIT!

:lol::kickass::kickass: "Ice Cold Fucking Beer" :kickass:

EBS -:notworthy:notworthy - Patrick, you guys kicked some major ass!

Firewind - :notworthy:notworthy

The rest: :Puke:

Had a great time! Great to see the usual crew, as always! See you all of you Saturday night.

GameFreac... please tell me. From DH's first song to ..their second to last. Did you really notice a difference? Their last song is the one that was written to be more melodic, had character and is on Headbanger's Ball. It sounded different. Everything else just sucked to me. The guy couldn't sing a clean note. I can sing better. Enough said.

Like I said, I hate this band on album. I think they suck. The singer might not have been that good and yes, most of the songs sounded the same. But they were energetic and fun and I enjoyed them. I didn't expect to, but I did.

In DH's defense that guy had just joined the band because their old singer was a complete jackass. They basically picked him up on the tour and he can scream really well, but Dino even said when I talked to him that they're gonna be auditioning vocalists for the next album because they want more of a scream/clean balance.

Thanks man, Im glad you enjoyed our show. That was an off night for me in my opinion, but everyone else said it sounded great so for the sake of me not losing my mind, I'll go with everyone else. I really appreciate you getting there early to catch our set as well as everyone else that caught our set. If you didn't see us, you'll have plenty of chances--so don't miss it next time.

No problem...it wasn't an off night you guys were great

I'll definitely see you guys again....probably when you open for Kamelot :)

so, should we take it that you do not plan to support any local shows between now and that time? Just curious. Because EBS has a full plate for the summer. In July there isn't hardly anywhere they're not playing in metro Atlanta. :p I just don't see why anyone would have to wait 6 months to see them again.

And does this also mean that you will not be making it to the CIIC/Midnight/EBS pre-show party on Sept 24th?

Regardless, I'm glad you got to see four of their songs.
