My aunty came to my house today and told me the news :( My parents will be coming home from Tasmania for the funeral this week.
Unfortunately she'd been in poor health for quite a while, but I just didn't expect it so soon

Sorry for your loss brother. I know how it is hitting out of nowhere. My grandmother died while I was on tour. My thoughts are with ya.

My condolences man. My mother has not been doing well recently so I feel your pain. I have strong hopes that she will recover but it's been a rough past few weeks...

I feel your pain brotha... I lost my mom, my grandmother, and my grandfather all within a year before I even turned 20. It's rough.

I´m so sorry, brother :( As I lost my grandmother, it was very hard. First I managed it pretty good not to cry, but as I saw my name on her casket, I began to understand. You have to be very, very strong on the funeral. But when the funeral is over, the wound of sorrow will begin to heal. This is my experience.

I'm sorry for your loss my friend, may you take solace in the fact that she is in pain no more. I' like others that have posted have none of my grandparents left in my life, they have all passed on. It's important we treasure the people we care for in life as they can be gone in an instant.

Be well my friend.

FML.
Crying right now.
The last time I cried from being sad was in December.
I know I wont be able to cry at the actual funeral though. Funerals just make me totally numb, I don't feel anything. Not happiness, not pain, not grief, not shock, not loss.
Yeah, I accept in my rational mind there is the loss, but my emotional state doesn't register it at all at funerals.
Then the days after the funeral, all the emotions just totally set in. The sense of loss just kicks in and I become an emotional wreck.

Thanks for being so supportive guys, it's stuff like this that makes me love this forum
