Just got an email from Charlie

i think it's good that people are emailing him to let him know this thing sucks bigtime.

BUT, as an artist/muscian you gotta let them do what they feel is right at the time. so let charlie and scott get up onstage and maybe they will remember why they got rid of joey and danny all those years ago.

his reply sounds like he is getting bombarded with emails not supporting this gimmick reunion. he doesn't care what his fans think.
nice one charlie.

well if they told us fans straight up the reasons for this, and the whereabouts of john and rob then maybe us fans would not be getting pissed at them.
instead we have that lame 'press release' and see photos on other sites of the band re-united and looking very awkward and uncomfortable with each other.

they won't be getting another dollar from me.

If Scott said at the press conference he was "unsure of what will happen" in reference to Bush. It tells me:
a) The band has a problem with Bush (I find this unlikely)
or
b) Scott & Charlie want to see how it goes with Joey...and if it make $$$....bye, bye John.

Personally I think they will do OK, but as many of you pointed out, it is not 1987 anymore. The "heydays" are over, ya know.

Maybe we could all email Joey Vera, and have him give us the straight dope on Bush?

Back to "Powerslave"!

Ya know ... let it be. One thing I have learnt is that there is always 2 sides to every story. NOT everything is black and white.

So anyway - I love Anthrax regardless of the lineup (and yes I am disappointed for John and Rob) and its for the Music that I love them - not their beliefs - not their internal politics. Shit I disagree with so much of what Scott believes its not funny but I still love the guy's music.

ANYWAY ... All I want is to get back to basics. Back to the MUSIC. Roll on Anthrax ... Roll on the Music and time to bang my FUCKIN HEAD!

my problem with that last message is that the 80's music sounds better with john and rob! When i first heard madhouse at ozzfest 2002 as an innocent 18 year old i thought it was a naff band falling somewhere between maiden and metallica. On the drive back I heard only and it blew me away. With most reunions its cool cos the band in question didnt change style (maiden, priest) so when they got a new guy it didnt sound right (although I did like Blaze bailey). But Anthrax DID change style and i dont think you should ever repeat yourself, i say, i dont think you should repeat yourself. repition to me admits you made a mistake somewhere.
And does anyone know if no bollock will be singing any bush tunes? if so then i hope to hell they dont record em!

No bollock ...hehehe!

I understand what you mean man. I loved John's take on the old school with GO2E but it was also the down tuning and the sound of the band that was cool.

It's a real tough one to be honest. As much as I will be a diehard fan of this band for their music - its rather sad about John and Rob but as I said there is 2 sides to every coin.

All I wanna do right now is just see em live (May 16 Adelaide can't come soon enuff) and just enjoy the FUCKN MUSIC. Having said that I do hope John does come back as SOWN was my ultimate Anthrax lineup.

Also one last thing what is shitting me is this. Is although I support this reunion I fuckn hate all these new posters coming on board screaming how Joey is the best and how Bush wasn't good ... how this and that and just slamming ppl that I have known on this board for ages! So in some respects I don't blame a lot of the mainstayers on here (and you know who you are) fighting back... Its just BS!

Sure I love Joey ... Sure I love Danny (even with that crazy fukn look he has) ... but no way in hell am I gonna come on here and slam others for preferring John.

I love the Joey Era ... and I love Bush era. To me its Anthrax - plain and simple.

I need a drink. Who's shouting?

I have no doubts that this lineup can do as good or better than the Bush lineup...They have done alot better in the past and there are alot of old school fans that only accept the ATL lineup as Anthrax..I Love both lineups and I am really glad they are giving this a shot. I think Danny Spitz and Scott Ian were the greatest guitar duo of the whole thrash scene and the ATL lineup had great songs, a great show and a great stage prescence. Joey brought alot to the table when he was in Anthrax and was never frowned upon back in the day. Belladonna was the shit...the guy in thrash that had a great voice and was a true frontman...every great band has an element of different personalities , tension , etc. It's a wierd combo that made this band so awesome in it's day...to never re-visit that would be sad to me....

Of course they are not going to bash John right now. They don't know how this is going to go. Remember all the shit that they talked about Dan and Joey?
Dan- They were tired of carring his weight.
Joey- He wanted us to do Journey style music and we were at a dead end with him.

Now, John wants to take some time off to spend with his family, and they want to "Ask him to be a part of this re-union? Shit, what about when Joey declined to go on tour with them in 2000? This thing stinks of a money grab!

In regards to Charlie's comment about Bush... Who the hell would wanna tour with the ex? That's like a guy trying to get his wife and ex-wife into bed at the same time. Anyone with any self respect would decline. Bravo John. I guess for some it's not just about the money.

As for Anthrax in general....Among the Living is still one of my all-time faves. I think the band are all cool guys. But come on and be honest, the only reason to do this lame tour is to try and cash in... and it seems like it's blowing up in your face. It would really be a shame for such a great band to end like this.
