just got the latest october tide

i know it's out since september but i just found out about it and got it today.
i've always regarded october tide as jonas and fredrik's side project and imagine my surprise that fredrik revived the band after 11 years and jonas isn't there.
quite frankly no one of the days of old is there except fredrik and he's not in katatonia anymore.

+1. I was so hyped about their return... but the album felt like generic doom/death metal to me.

havent heard the new OT but i completely agree with the first part, both are boring imo (and i like doom/death )

Exactly and once you listen to the album more, you'll definitely hear the OT touch/style. It just takes some getting used to.

I got the OT touch the first time i listened to it but it is quite different from the other albums and like many said here. it reminds of swallow the sun and novembers doom whom i haven't listened to for a few years-oh the memories.
