just how black metal can you be?

I don't only listen to 80's metal. The only 80's Bands I still listen to are Maiden, Saxon and Manowar, which are still around and except for Manowar pretty much have modernized their sound :/ I really like Punk(Old and New, for instance the clash, die toten hosen or even Blink 182 :/) and Modern Metal(For instance Rammstein I like a lot) a lot. I like pretty much any style of Death Metal, and I really like when they mix with other styles, like for instance Chuck Schuldiner who mixed it with Jazz or Wintersun, where Jari mixed it with power metal.
I don't say I hate Black Metal in all ways, because for instance Menhir is a mix of Black Metal and folkish sounds and I love their music, but I just really hate "true" Black Metal, best examples being Mayhem and Darkthrone, it just is so embarassing.

Darkthrone rules.

and i'm pretty sure that dumb ass american was making fun of black metal in his emails.. he ends his emails with "even blacker then before" and shit like that. what an ass.

Generally black metal is pretty lame. Of course there are exceptions to the rule, as exists in most forms of music, but overall i prefer just solid musicianship or well written songs over people getting all painted up and being like RAAAAA IM SO BLAAAAACKKK ARRRRRR. I can understand the showmanship but if that is what you rely on to gain a following or sell your music then you should probably just die.

atleast i can admit im a manowar fan and be proud of it instead of hiding it from everyone in attempt to make everyone think you're cool for ripping on them where in reality that makes you homo. ';..;'

I'm not so much into Rhapsodys vocals, because I don't like high pitched voices so much, but that they got Christopher Lee to perform with them makes them great. It's a shame I'm gonna miss the Earthshaker Festival this summer, Manwoar will be there with Christopher Lee and it will be a huge fanconvention.
And yeah DeamonsAndLies is right, Eric Adams would so kick your asses.
Generally when I look at Black Metal bands, all members are so thin and look so much like whimps, which a blow of wind could take down, but still they act as if they're so tough and think they look so scary with their Corpsepaint. :/

Yeah well the whole satanical stuff gets a bit much for me too, but there are some great musiciams in Black metal and that's what I care about, I care about the music. Manowar has some über-catchy tunes which are quite good but in my book they equal in silliness to the most 'evil' saanical bm band there is or whatever, you know
