just trying the AXE FX....

They seem like great guide track and live gigging units. Still not quite there to make it on a finished production, but tons of potential and versatility. I bet running into a power amp and cab they sound a ton more convincing too.

I think a lot of the reason why the AxeFX sounds as good as it does lies in the top notch hardware they put in the units. It's better than most people's audio interfaces. And their tube modeling algorithms are absolutely the best I've heard.

Ben - Awesome! Glad to hear that Recabinet is sounding good for you with the AxeFX. It's a combination that's gotten mixed reviews, in large part because the workflow and storage capacity of the AxeFX doesn't readily lend itself to large third-party IR libraries such as Recabinet (more on that below.)

what, you can install other IR's on this thing? If that's the case I want one! (sorry, Noob here). Just returning my pod x3 pro as it doesn't power up anymore. Maybe I should get AxeFx instead?

Yes, but there's only 10 slots for user IRs. Hopefully that's something that can be expanded in a future firmware update, and not a physical limitation of the storage memory, but I honestly don't know either way. It would be cool if it supported USB memory sticks or SD cards for third party IRs as well as preset backup, but obviously that would require a new version of the hardware itself.

Doesn't sound like the real thing to me at all. It sounds good, yes, but in a way similar to Andy's POD clip.

I'm not sure if this is what you wanted but it cleans up really nice if you roll of the volume pot:

If it's just a lowgain tone you were talking about, that depends on the user..

I was thinking more of a less gain on the amp and harder playing on the strings. Like Eric Petersen hard.

But thanks for sharing that clip. Nice to hear some mellow stuff. That sounded convincing aswell.

The axe FX sounds like a joke compared to Onqels new ampsim, can't post clips yet but trust me, it sounds 10 times better ;)

1200 bucks? goodlord....I'd rather buy a used 5150, and 4x12 v30 cab, donate to kazrog and onqel's projects, and still have enough money to buy a case of beer and hit the stripclub. bahahaha

aha, Almost correct... Those types you'll probably find in rate my mix-street. Doesn't all Axe-fx users around here go for that kind of tone?

That clip was only my lead preset and drums. I'm surprised that I managed to get it so clean, the volume pot were on the spot where it's either on or off... It was so sensitive to movement I barely dared breathing haha.

It was a fun clip doing. Way rushed, but I got to try out just using the volume pot, something I usually don't do.
