K, I've finally made life choices and stuff.

Well, not sure, but I do know that masses of US/European companies are opening up shop over there (and rest of SE Asia) and so it's become quite a trendy place to live all of a sudden (like Hong Kong back in the mid-90's). Amman lived there for 2 years and loved it, and did the scuba thing. My sister's got a beach house in Phuket, she goes 3-4 times a year. It's become a huge tourist destination (outside of Bangkok) especially for the full moon parties. Same with Goa.

You my pals! What the fuck happened to Full Sail? Man, at least fuck a 10 year old asian for me.

Not enough to bring in western economics and people en masse. Maybe Taiwan? Even Malaysia and Singapore have strict regimes, but I don't think they're considered totalitarian like, say, Cuba or North Korea.

The people who get fucked in Thailand are those that get caught smuggling drugs. I just don't get why people still even take the risk after all the horror stories and movies.

Was it in Thailand that young man was recently executed for smuggling in drugs that supposedly was for his brother?

Anyways, good luck Tully! Nut sure if I think this sounds like the best plan I've heard, but even if it doesn't work out, it'll be something to tell your grandkids! And you'd better damn well find an internet connection over there and keep us posted on how it goes!

Good luck. I think it's awesome when people have big plans for the future (even just in the short-term) like this. Personally, I pretty much have NO plans whatsoever. There's nothing like this that I would really love to do for the next few years or whatever, as I don't even really have that many interests. I have no idea what career path I want to go down as I don't really find anything so interesting that the idea of doing it for a living appeals to me. And I can't really see this changing either.

So yeah, making life choices seems like a good thing to me, rather than just sitting and waiting for some sort of inspiration like I seem to be doing.

Probably. There have been a couple of movies about that sort of thing in the last few years: Brokedown Palace (with Clare Danes and Kate Beckinsale!!!1) and some other flick with Joaquin Phoenix and Vince Vaughn.

I mean, for fucks sake, EVERYONE BY NOW should realize that smuggling drugs in and out of countries such as Thailand or Turkey is BAD NEWS. Remember Midnight Express????

So yeah, if you're going to Thailand specifically to bring drugs back to the USA, then you might not like it too much when they catch you at the airport. :loco: People are so dumb it's unreal.

Anyone ever read The Beach? Excellent book (forget the movie with Leo DiCrapio), all set in Thailand of course.

just be careful of tsunamis, it's god's way of punishing fags.

And Swedes apparently.

EDIT: The Swedish guy at work made a big fuss when telling us that more Swedes died in that Tsunami than people did on 9/11. I think it was a pretty big deal in Sweden or something.

Shame that. Maybe one day, out of the blue, you might find something that tickles your fancy.

I swear though, I could live several lifetimes and still not get everything done. I wish I could clone myself now and live parallel lives. :loco: *thinks of dodgy Michael Keaton movie*

remembering midnight express, I was nervous as hell in Istanbul airport. My field jacket had been in hundreds of pot filled rooms, and when they released the drug dog to run around sniffing, I thought, man, my feet are gonna get beaten now .

Heh, when we were in Dhahab, we smoked so much ganja you wouldn't believe it. The bedouins would just let it dry on the mountainside and come down to the beach to sell it (a whole bush cost $2 US). I must have washed every clothing of article I had twice over just to avoid the dogs at Cairo airport on the way home.

$2 a bush... my friend said something similar about Equador. Is it actually potent, high quality bud over there? I'd think it to be bricky roadside schwag. I've always wondered...

Oh I'm sure it's complete wildgrass. Don't you worry though, when you get to Amsterdam, just ask for "Northern Lights" and let the buds do all the work...

Yeahhhhh I know the tricks of the trade. I was thinking of going for AK-47 for my first smoke.

from reports from several of my friends, 'da Norden Lights are about middle-of-the-road quality considering what you can get over there

I would be completely wiped if I toked on AK. I used to smoke a lot more, but over the years I just stopped. My tolerance level is waaay down. I'm such a cheap date. :loco:
