Kamelot.....quick thoughts...

Agree. Tommy sounded phenomenal. I wish they could have played twice as long! Here is the setlist:

Rule the World
Ghost opera
Center of the universe*
Human Stain
Seasons End
Sacrimony
Forever w audience jam
March Of Mephisto

I hope they change up the list for the rest of the tour.
Because in my opinion, its a rather lackluster set of songs.
Need more stuff from Karma and Epica, maybe a ballad?

Ballads are for wimps!!

So is having almost the same setlist for 6 years!
Just you know like in my imo

But every setlist needs some variety, to build up the more energetic/new songs.

hey same could be said for Symphony X. Both times I have seen them, it was almost the same songs, with a couple songs from the new album played

Indeed, not any shot at the band or anything.

I know they have a new singer who is just learning some of the tracks, but I'd hope for more variety.

I know certain bands like to play crowd pleasers, but if they dont experiment they'll never know what a new crowd explorer should be.

Tommy sounds friggin' awesome, you can tell he's still adjusting a bit, but he's already doing a great job. By the end of this tour, I expect that he'll have taken it to another level.

I'm hoping for "Eden Echo" and "Karma" tomorrow night. There are a host of other songs I'd love to see as well, but based on what they've played at recent headlining shows and the amount of time they have, there's a pretty limited pool of other songs we can expect. Regardless, it was killer to see Tommy fronting Kamelot!

Terrible setlist. It's not that the songs aren't good (they certainly are, mostly), it's that this is the same fucking thing they played last tour. 'Epica' doesn't get nearly enough representation, and it's high time they played stuff from 'The Fourth Legacy'. I remember they even specifically mentioned that album when discussing their new singer, saying that he has the range necessary to handle such material, which they knew their fans have been wanting to hear. So what gives?

They gotta play the songs the new fans wanna hear man

I thought it was a great show, just wish it was longer. As far as the set goes... Yeah, I agree I'd rather hear some older songs, stuff less played, but this is this first run through the states with Tommy as their official vocalist and with only 45 minutes I'm not surprised they're sticking with the standard live songs to win over any fans still on the fence about the loss of Khan. Hopefully next time around they'll experiment a bit more.

Here you go, Brian :) :

It was awesome. Agreed they nailed it. The only problem is that it was too short! Different songs tonight probably. They were quick to say they'd mix it up for these two nights as I recall

Squee factor 10 exceeded!

Tommy is astounding. I'be never seen one man's legacy annihilated so thoroughly so quickly. All those songs I considered Roy's greats Tommy destroyed. Karma, Center of the Universe, Edenecho...everything was as close to perfect as one could hope for.

What an amazing show all around. Completely obliterated the fatigue I was feeling from lack of sleep and an 8 hour drive.
