Katatonia amps!

Your amp is not the most important thing at all to achieve a Katatonia sound. I use an Epiphone (I know, I know :erk: ) with Boss effects through a Kustom amp, and I'm able to get exactly the same sound.
I've seen Katatonia live last saturday so I should be able to tell you what amp they use, but the thing is that they replaced the amp logo by the Katatonia logo.

Erm... so you always play clean? :err: That'd be lame.

Incision, for the guitars: He didn't use his Gibson sunburst on the gig. He had 3 guitars, black Epiphone Les Paul, red/black Gibson SG, black Gibson SG.

Gorik ... I've told you a thousand times to use the amp's distortion :(
disto pedals are utter shit. Period :(
No you didn't :D You just told me you don't like your Boss pedals. I told it to Pieter and he was totally shocked, you must have a bad pedal set then.
And all bands use pedals live so what's the deal?
And I ain't gonna switch some buttons every time I want to switch between disto and clean eh.
But then again, I don't know anything about these matamp thingies and stuff so I might say some stupid things here. Fuck that anyway.

Man.. Many Many metal bands don't use pedals. There are multichannel amps, which you switch between a footpedal.. Every channel is a separate preamp. In a two-channel amp they are often a clean channel and a distorted channel.

What settings do you use with your Boss Gt-3 to have THE Katatonia sound? For rhythm and lead guitars?

My equipment is:

Marshall JCM 900
Boss Gt-3
Epiphone guitars
