While what you say about individuality is true to an extent, it is not true to the same extent. To those not familiar with the scene (just as those who were not familiar with the Hair Metal scene and lumped all of those bands together), they will not see the differences. But those who are experienced with it can easilly tell, say, Dark Tranquillity from In Flames, or Amon Amarth from Arch Enemy, etc., etc.

Also, on your comment about 80s Metal being better than today's Metal, I find your argument to be invalid. How can personality and character be a larger factor in the music than the sound and musicianship?

lol you are both right I happen to listen to Both 80's metal and metal of today both make very good points but for the most part it is the same point
