I like them I enjoy the mixing of screaming and singing. They have some sweet riffs too. They have a new singer now too I'm curious to see what they will sound like on their new cd.

C'mon Cletus, this is just fucking lame excuse to like the new Tallica wreck-ord. No true metal head is right, because I like many types of music and many, but when it comes down to it, I love true metal. The drummer in my band is fucking genius, and a cool guy, one of my best friends, but he has one problem, he thinks Metallica can do no wrong, over the years I had him ready to give up new Metallica, but then the new album came out,

He turned out liking the fucking piece of shit, and there went six years of metal philosophy, fuck I hate rumors!

I could care less if a person likes the new Metallica record or not. I mean, I will listen to what I want to listen to, not what others say I should. It's not cool to bash on someone just because they like an album that you think is shit. I personally think this album is beyond utter shit, I mean, there are no godamn guitar solos! What is that shit!
On the topic of Killswitch Engage, I have a burnt copy of Alive or Just Breathing and it rarely gets in my player. I don't like it too much, but I saw the band at Ozzfest and they kicked ass live. They were full of energy, and they lit up the second stage which was littered with shitty bands. They are not really my thing, because I am not really a metalcore fan. But if you like it, that's fine with me. Go ahead and listen to what you will. It's a goddamn free country, and isn't the point of message boards is to share whats good about metal, not what is bad.

i dont hate them because theyre popluar,i hate them because theyre just another nu-metal band, their popularity is not an issue because they dont even seem to be that popular. so they can play their instruments a little better, big deal that doesnt mean theyre any good, some1 mentioned the guys from slipknot being able to play, well those guitarists are just as good as any metal guitarist, but they wasted their talent on shit like slipknot.

I'm sick and tired of people complaining about a lack of solos in this style of metal, that rules. Solos are so overdone, it's about time metal bands don't have solos.

solos have nothing to do with it, most black metal bands dont have solos, its just that this style is dumbed down and overly repetitive, it all does sound the same and none of it has any kind of intelligence whatsoever,its a bunch of kids trying to be cool, theres no heart

KSE are anything but dumbed down and repetitive. They are far more complex, emotive, and talented than most metal bands these days.

In fact, I would say raw black metal is FAR more dumbed down than KSE.

Also, what's wrong with repetitive? By your profile, I assume you listen to Sunn 0)))... and drone doom is some of the most repetitive music around. Industrial metal also very commonly utilizes repetition, and it's not a bad thing by any means.

Also, KSE have NOTHING whatsoever to do with nu metal. They are a melodic death band with hardcore leanings, similar to Soilwork at times.

just because i like SunnO)) doesnt mean i have a bad definition of what repetitive is, to me Killswtich Engage is boring and uninspired and i would never go as far as to call them metal, maybe hardcore but not metal, yes some raw black metal is repetitive but can you tell me that Immortal is a repetitive raw black metal band?

and yes Immortal is a raw black metal band especially on the first 4 albums, not saying the latter 3 sucked but the latter 3 were slowed down and much more sophisticated
