KSE - This Fire Burns (Cover) Mixing Practice

MetalMiller, thanks for the mix!
Cool snappy snare.
Maybe the guitars are harsh a bit.
Liked your way of chorus vox placing.

outloaf, that's Seymour Dunkan SH-13 in bridge.

sinquestsound, cool to hear your mix here!
If the OHs are from Avatar, what's for the snare and kick? :)

pizzaeueu, thanks for the mix!
Try turning the volume down and hear the kick is dominating by its clicky highs. I'd suggest to make them lower.
Also hear some reverb on the guitars, not sure it's a good idea, because it makes a noise in the lower range of the mix.
Otherwise, good job!

otero1st, thanks for you entry!
Here are some points:
  • Kick has a lot of sub bass, but should posses some body as well.
  • I can hear some phase issues (is there any stereo enchancer on it?).
  • Bring the lead guitar up a little.
  • I'd prefer more body and slightly less upper mids to the rhythm guitars.
  • Master comp / limiter is pumped pretty much, so you may hear the guitars are "jumping" on some parts by their volume.
Hope they'd be useful.

Looking forward to new mixes! :)

Thanks for listen and for your advices. I try mix the song again and this is the result, please check it ;)

How is this rough mix (approximately 3 hours in total and w/o vocals)? What can I improve?

I like the rhythm guitars they're quite aggressive.
The reverb on the lead guitars has a lot of lowend crap, highpass filter that shit.
The kick has that trademark SD2 plastic sound, you can hide it somewhat if you scoop around 3 kHz.

Here's my version I had a lot of fun with this one:
