Mercyful Fate "Don't Break The Oath" (superior to Melissa)
Bathory "Bathory"
Burzum "Det Som Engang Var"
Emperor "In the Nightside Eclipse"
Danzig "Danzig"

Morbid Angel "Altars of Madness"
Judas Priest "Unleashed In the East"
Mayhem "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas"
Atheist "Piece of Time"
Candlemass "Epicus Doomicus Metallicus"
Crytopsy "None So Vile"

I have every one including the Empyrium, which means +1 for you because I can't get past the vocals on it. Excellent music though.

 But listening to grown men screaming "waaah wahhh waaaah blarghu rooooar" is perfectly acceptable. Seriously, you NEED to understand Empyrium just for it's utter genius. Keep trying until there are no more hours left in the day!!!

Wow, really surprised this thread didn't turn into several pages of lists!!! I thought *everyone* had their own opinion on what's considered "mandatory".

Oh yeah, forgot this forum jumped the shark. :loco:

I definitely will, I've tried several times. I know how high a pedastol you place "Songs of Moors..." on so it's one of those special cases that commands a hard fought effort.

can't be arsed to make a list, but it would include metallica, bathory, mayhem, deströyer 666, iron maiden, black sabbath and judas priest. and more.

Some other essential heavy metal albums.

Running Wild - Death or Glory/Under Jolly Roger
Helstar - Nosferatu/Remnants of War
Vicious Rumors - Digital Dictator
Crimson Glory - Transcendence
Twisted Sister - You Can't Stop Rock 'n Roll

I don't add anything from Manowar, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest etc. because I think that in such questions, everyone has ALL of their best albums!

I' ll try. :)

What about these from US Power/Thrash?

Metal Church - Metal Church/Blessing In Dsiguise
Agent Steel - Unstoppable Force
Flotsam And Jetsam - Doomsday for the Deceiver
Overkill - The Years of Decay

Helstar - Nosferatu

Musically this is nothing short of phenomenal....but I can't get into Rivera's vocals. I can't stand vocalists that sing in the same key, same notes, same scale on each and every song. Warrel Dane is another. Trying mixing it up why don't ya?

Good call on Omen. :kickass:

Fantastic late-80's thrash band from Wisconsin, I believe. Brutal as FUCK. I'm also pretty sure that they used to open for Death, early on. The original is SUPER hard to find, and if you do will pay through your nose, but their is a re-release whic I have that has their demo on it as well which is more easy to locate. I'll upload "Lock Up Your Children."

Lock Up Your Children

PS - Did you check out "Set In Stone" track from Killingsworth that I uploaded for you!?! You asked and I delievered, with no input! :loco:
