Last exam today, IM DONE WITH HIGH SCHOOL ACADEMICS

Psh. I haven't been to a college party yet, and I've had the time of my life.

Edit: Then again, I've lived a very sad life thus far, so that's not hard to accomplish.

I dont go to college parties, apperently my idea of a good time doesnt involve sitting around someone else's house (that i probably don't know) drinking shit beer as fast as possible with a bunch of people that I dont know.

LOL

hit the nail on the head on that one.

college kicked ass. what's wrong with sitting around at someone's house drinking beer with people you dont know? its called making friends. and if the people there are ladies, then it's called "planting the seed."

totally

don't declare a major your first year, trust me.

^Follow this advice. Get some general education courses over with, get used to the format of the classes, and find out which subjects interest you the most. You can still easily graduate in four years, and you won't be thrown directly into the most challenging classes your first year.

Edit: If you are planning on majoring in math or any science, definitely follow this advice.

Well, technically nothing, but it gets boring after a time. Unless you're hooking up. *nudgeicles*

Derek, first rule, don't sleep with the undergrads. And teaching is pretty sweet, in my experience.

That rule made a HUGE amount of sense initially, but I've recently lost the largest chunk of my (former) sensible disposition and been doing alot of things I probably shouldnt be.

It can get weird. I was stalked by a student at one point, that was unnerving.

I know. I've been pretty shocked by how much attention a young male lecturer can get. I must admit, I've not really acted correctly about said attention...

Must be the whole authority figure dynamic compiled with the weird explorations in sexuality you get with students at that age. Fact is, I know WAY too many instructors and lecturers who have given into temptation. It's a pretty badly concealed secret that it happens a lot.

Well, to be totally honest...most of these girls are only a few years younger than me and normally considered young women...and well, it's difficult to see it as wrong.

Damn sexy students!

There is that. Being three or four years older than your students makes for a narrow margin of differentation. My girlfriend while I was teaching was an undergrad at another schook, six years younger than me. Most of my students were actually older than her. Kind of surreal.

I'm done for the summer come the beginning of June. I'm gonna move to edinburgh, and from there I'm fairly confident I want to take some time out and think about things a little less. Maybe work in a small bookstore, maybe doing some environment type work...just sorta relax and enjoy life a little.
