Line 6 Spider 15W Sound Clip

Doesn't have to do with the sound quality. He said the amp was really scooped, but the mids are what makes your amp cut through a mix. It's just ironic because the 5150 is known for extreme mids, yet the Line 6 that was declared scooped as hell cuts better.
 
That's weird that you think that, my bandmate uses one with the same Mesa cab as I do, and it cuts a lot better than my 5150.

If you can't get a 5150 to cut, that makes me think you're doing something wrong... bad mic placement, bad amp eq, I dunno... no offense but that's just the first thing that comes to my head, 5150s are SO easy to get to cut through a mix.
 
My settings are Treble: 10 Mids:0 Bass:10 Presence:10...




No, there's nothing wrong with my settings. In fact, I keep my mids higher than most people running a 5150 would, around 1:00. The Line 6 just has more prevalent mids/is a lot louder. I haven't put it under a mic yet, this is with us just playing in our rehearsal space with both amps facing similar directions.
