list your pres

Id go for api alex, universal audio 610 distorts VERY easily on loud sources

Cool man, I've heard the phrase 'good on absolutely everything' being thrown around when people talk about api. True from your experience with it? I'm intersted in pairing a good pre with an Audient black series compressor for vocals...

2 pres that are included on my TC Konnekt 8
1 Great River ME-NV

I've been thinking a lot about the API A2d lately, but I'am not sure that it will really add something new to my rig. Might invest in outboard compression first, unless somebody convinces my to do otherwise...

RME Fireface 400 (2 pre)
Behringer ADA8000 (8 pre, but I don't use them  It's for live backing track use)

That's it ;) Maybe I'll get something else later, but right now that is more than enough for my needs (no drums to record).

Presonus Firestudio (8)
M-Audio 2626 (8)
TL Audio PA-1 (2)

ATM in search for an API lunchbox, so hopefully I'll have a few good pre's in the near future!

Art MPA Gold (2 channels)
API A2D (2 channels)
Golden AGE PRE73
Focusrite Safire Pro 10 (8 Channles)

Hey man, how does your MPA gold stack up against your GA73 and API? I'm thinking of getting one soon with a tube upgrade.

Audient ASP008

The audient is great - super clean, variable hi-pass on all 8 channels, 2 instrument inputs, line level inputs on all channels, phase invert on all channels, 60dB of gain (enough for my SM7b), 20dB pad on all channels, variable impedence on all channels. You can get a totally different sound from dynamic mics just mucking around with the impedence...

True! I love mine aswell!

Anyhoo:
Rme pre's on the fireface
Audient ASP008
Golden Age Pre73 (which i use with a tube comp which makes an awesome combo on vocals..)

Not mine, but at the studio I just used all of these for the first time tracking my bands album, which is done finally.

API 3124
API 512
Shadow Hills Gama
Vintech X72
Manley Dual Mono
Sytek MPX-4a
UA 610

The API and Shadow Hills are awesome pres.
SM7 - X72 - Distressor = Best vocal chain I've ever used for screams/growls.
