Live shows

I was already glad 2½ of my all-time fav bands are touring to NZ this year (the one I've never seen before New Model Army is only bringing a duo here, so I'm planning to see the full band in Melbourne). But now it's 3½ as Pentagram got announced today:

Pawns in the culture war going into battle. I'm not sure what reparations they expect Bobby to make beyond doing jail time and probation in his 60s - that can't have been easy. Thank fuck I've seen Pentagram before.

Anyway, I saw ZZ Top for the 2nd time the other month, which was sick. Also saw Sex Pistols w/ Frank Carter and it was alright. Besides Metallica I mentioned on the previous page, about the only major upcoming ones I'm interested in here are Brant Bjork Trio and Bølzer. Maybe also The Jesus Lizard just because a friend is bringing them over and put his own band in the support slot. 😁

Come on, if everyone's favourite, Kayne, can be banned from entering this country it's only fair some old prick 95% of the country doesn't know about pulls the pin before he even tries to get a Visa.

Auckland black metal is alive, just - only a couple of bands around. I'm hardly even into black metal and it's still too rare locally for me, so I try to see it when I can. I couldn't make it to this one, but a legend captured footage of the set:

I scored a free ticket to Tool last night and it was decent. They're playing interesting setlists on this tour. They're a band I certainly wouldn't pay arena prices to see, so that worked out well. I'd seen them at a festival in 2011 but didn't quite stick around for the full set.

Blind Guardian in Cleveland. Some nostalgia seeing ensiferum open to but I'm not really into them anymore.

Only one song pre somewhere far beyond this time 😢 but still a good set.
