Logic 9 Flex Time

Ok, so I want to click and drag a single drum hit like I see in the sample videos on Apple's site. I have flex mode on the track set to rhythmic, and when I click and drag on a hit with the flex tool it moves not only that hit, but all the hits around it. Like if I take a hit and drag it to the left, the hits to the right of the hit that I am dragging slide to the left too.

What am I missing?

Also, how do you make Logic draw waveforms after tracking without closing and re-opening the program? I know there has to be a way to do it.

if you move the marker from the top of the region it moves all markers with it, if you move from the bottom, the ones after stay where they are.
