Love of Live (part två)

before the concert a girl from the staff of the club went on stage saying that ensiferum didn't want any photos and videos. the audience freaked out. i had to quarrel with her and with a guy from the ensiferum staff who allowed me to do photos at the groups before ensiferum.
but when ensiferum came on stage, i got hidden and started to make some photos, and also a lot of other people started to do it too, and the staff got tired to walk up and there to stop people, so they finally gave up.
bleh that's boring! :ill: i was going to film something as usual too... wonder if they're gonna say the same here next week... oh well if they do, no big deal, it's not like i'm that crazy about Ensiferum though i do certainly like their older stuff... Did they play the Clint Eastwood song (a.k.a. Stone Cold Metal from the new album) ? :D though you probably don't remember anyway :p

yes, really boring!
i suppose it wasn't ensiferum's fault, but the menagement's. maybe they have given some exclusives to magazines or photographers.
in the end I, and a lot of people too, were able to do photos, so it ended well, but i don't know how it will be in your country. ensiferum didn't seem to care so much about the fact that people were doing photos, and they weren't annoyed.

i don't know about that song, 'cause i haven't heard the new album (only seen the promo video)

Finally a decent gig!!!

I'll see Mar de Grises live this sat. They are easily the best doom metal act from South America (Uaral comes close). If someone is interested on pics from that gig, let me know it.

I played live 2 days ago and I'll play live again tonight.

i'm going to see Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio tonight and Geist, Verdunkeln, Sear Bliss, Urfaust, Troll tomorrow @ Aurora Infernalis Fest Part II. Really eager to see my fav. Sear Bliss for the first time :kickass:

yeahhhh!!!! i got my first serious job for an upcoming gig!!!!!

Cool, I was considering about going to the Saturday show of the Aurora Infernalis Festival, only for Troll, as I really like their last two albums, but decided not to go after all because I don't know any of the other bands, and Troll is back to "true norwegian black metal" which I really don't give a rat's ass about.

Next concert in line for me is on Tuesday, Massive Attack. And I have to take an important mid-term exam the next morning

A bit of double posting again, I know. Same as last, it's for the benifit of people who aren't frequenting the Borknagar forum that much (if everyone does, tell me and I'll shut up :))

Anyway, the point was that our Hamburg review and photos are finally not just online, but I've also remembered to advertise it in here! So if you're still interested, feel free to hop on over to our site and check it all out, cheers!

Awesome photos!! i just wish they were a bit bigger... Mr.V seems to like flirting with the camera! Nice review too, brings back good memories! :)

So friday i was at the Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio show. I'm not really a fan of them but i really enjoyed the show, the vocalist has a beautiful voice. If anybody's interested here are a few pictures i took and one of the 4 videos i filmed:

On to Aurora Infernalis Fest on saturday. The venue was quite small and in the beginning it wasn't busy at all, maybe that's why the sound was much better than later that night. The half of the audience was german which was a bit surprising. There were also very bad lighting during the whole evening thanks to which both the photos and the videos turned out quite bad. See the photos here

The first band Geist sounded quite decent, i even liked them (didn't know this band before). The second band Verdunkeln i didn't know either but i found them quite boring. Cannot say much about them, except that it was so dark and misty during their set that the pictures i made do justice their name

Then there was Sear Bliss, the reason i went to the fest. They were quite ok, but worse than i expected them to be :( Couldn't hear the trumpet in the beginning at all, which got much better during the set. Sadly both guitars were lost to me, so it didn't sound nearly as atmospheric as it does on the cds... Here's one of the 2 vids i shot:

Then there was Urfaust with their seemingly endless set. I found them so extremely boring that i almost fell asleep in the corner. However, that of course depends on the personal taste as a friend of mine found Urfaust to be the highlight of the evening :)

Then there was Troll. I didn't know them but i was told by my friends they're kvlt so we had to be there up front. And ended up in the middle of the mosh pit consisting mostly of the very drunk germans  That's why i didn't make any photos of Troll and the vids were shot by my bf. According to him, the sound was terrible. I cannot tell, as i didn't hear the cd versions, but i did like some of the stuff they played. Unfortunately we had to leave early to catch the last train. Here's one of the new tracks of the upcoming album they played:

J-Day with Metallica Jam and Faith No More Jam tomorrow!
Metallica Jam is a really good cover band, I don't know Faith No More Jam.
J-Day is a big festivity around here, celebrating the release of the years Christmas Brew (so alot of drinking is involved. mandatory, you could say...)

i'm going to see handful of hate this saturday. they are an italian black metal band, i should say one of the most famous in the country (and also abroad).
i'm really happy 'cause i'm going to make some live photos for them, my first serious photographic work !!!! i'm not payed but i have the pass :D

i'm half rotten....i hope i don't get ill :ill:

wow you must be really excited! :D good luck with photos and please don't get swine flu! :ill: every time i'm going to a metal gig these days i'm having thoughts that this is gonna be it... but i got away just fine so far so i guess you will be fine too so don't worry! ;)

i survived to this hard thing
and i sweared a lot and cursed every single god of every single religion i know, because of low lights. damn fucking underground black metal shows :yell: i worked in total darkness!!! :yell:

I went to Månegarm's release party in Stockholm & it was really great! Skyforger & Thyrfing also played, yeah, my absolutely favorite -Thyrfing!!! Månegarm is so good but Thyrfing have that magic that enchants my soul :)

I was headbanging so much that I forgot to take pics during Månegarm : (

i'm finishing to work on photos of last saturday's concert. i've tons of photos and it will take quite a long time. i'm doing some basic adjustments, like color balance, contrast, black and white conversion (i've choosen this option for the most part of photos) and putting my sign of it.
i'm really happy 'cause the band liked them, and that's the important thing for me!

a little preview, more will be uploaded on myspace when i'll be done.
shit...i've just finished to upload them and i discovered that imageshake have ruined them all (especially the first, the second and the fourth). i don't know why, never happened to me. maybe the files are really too big. anyway a lot of definition and details have been fucked up and a lot of rumour (those dirty or multicolored pixel) have appeared, the better way you can watch them is to open them on full screen (but still they have some errors) :ill:

this absolutely my favourite one...it's soo intense

Ah crap, lucky Dutch moth… (;)). I saw Legion of the Damned in Amsterdam, they were excellent. Wish I could see Hollenthon, amongst others.
