i have also checked the train tickets and it's only 38 euro for a 2-way ticket! which is totally doable! :D i might even end up going there after all, now i just need to convince somebody to go with me as i really can't stand doing things like that all alone.
seems we have to be quick ordering the tickets :lol:

huh? You're right, they've been touring pretty much non-stop and visited our little country basically at least once every year, for the past 8 years. I've only seen them once, over 4 years ago, on their tour after Ghost Reveries was released, in Amsterdam. I was really into their music back then, but it passed quickly and I've lost all my interest now.. :rolleyes: Think I still have that cd somewhere though, might give it a listen and it will sure bring up a lot of good memories for me from that time (last year in high school).

That`s the plan! Such a great band in my birthtown in this prestigious location, what a glorious event!

But actually, i did not found any possibility to order some tickets, yet. Maybe i will go by on saturday on my way to Satyricon and Shining and ask for tickets, hehe... :kickass:
 
@Azzor1911: Opeth is among my all time top fav. bands so i'm kinda ashamed i still haven't managed to see them live :oops:

no seriously, could you recommend some really really cheap hostels in the area? i haven't actually searched for it yet, maybe you have a suggestion?

gee, i see i'm getting a little bit ahead of myself here :oops::lol:, but i figured why the hell not! to see Opeth live has been on my bucket list for a while now, and 2 hours worth of it (after that they've been rehearsing for 2 months!!) must be really awesome experience!
 
saw Carach Angren yesterday, which are a dutch symphonic BM band, pretty good actually. They were quite ok live, though not as good as i had expected so i was a bit disappointed. other people seem to disagree but oh well... maybe i should have drunk more... :kickass:if anybody's interested, here's a vid i shot during the set:

next one for me: Swallow the Sun, Insomnium and Omnium Gatherum playing just "around the corner" on 8th dec... cannot remember i've ever been at a metal gig on tuesday... o_O

oh shit. some saturdays there's nothing interesting to do, and this one i have two concerts between which to decide.
one is obscura, the other one is skyclad.
i've already seen skyclad in the past, now i know they changed singer and i haven't heard their latest works. so i'm still a bit undecided. obscura plays quite far while skyclad plays at less than an hour of car.

@elvina: funny that here concerts are mostly on workdays. and it's always a problem for who has to do 2-3 hours of travel and go to work the day after. i've just discovered that dark funeral (which is probably my fave black metal band) will play in milan the 30 th of march ...well...it's tuesday :/

not that Turin and Ravenna are sooo near ( respectively 308 and 260 km) , but surely nearer than i expected :headbang:
my boyfriend, well he doens't like them...so it will be a problem to persuade him to bring me there, and it's a too long travel to think to do it on my own....so i don't know by now...
but there's still time to decide and organize the trip and i have some friends who have traveled to norway to see them, so they will surely go there too, but i don't know how much time we really have 'cause i fear tickets will be sold out soon. this concert is a milestone!
ulver in italy!!!!!! o_O
 
Oh yes I just read about that, new Ulver shows! Sadly none Holland, but if they won't add any more shows I'm probably gonna drive to Paris.

Sounds fun, I'd love to meet you.
Although I really can't be 100% sure yet if I'm going. It's on a thursday, and in early February my internship starts so it kinda depends on whether or not I can get a day off that next friday, I hope that that can be arranged. I think they're still adding more shows so let's keep our fingers crossed for anywhere closer to us, Ulver has a huge fanbase here... :cool:

i checked out the prices for the Opethshow in Essen. A lot of tickets are already sold ( a whole bunch of the good ones, of course) those which ar left are between 31,90, which are really not good, and the others are between 41,90 and 46,90. This is a little bit too expensive for my taste and my Girlfriend and some buddies of mine share that oppinion, although we wanted to see another show in Oberhausen 3 days later. This means, i will sadly not go! :cry:
 
@ Azzor: you're right. i haven't decided myself yet but i thought i'd ask anyway, in case you wouldn't approve there wouldn't have been anything to decide at all :) i hope they'll add a dutch show yet!

@ Oerko: hmm those prices don't surprise me, this is the reason i haven't managed to see Opeth for the past 1,5 years. When i saw that the V.I.P. tickets for the Essen show are 162,50 euro, i expected the regular ones to be something around 50 euro... I think we'll go anyway, it's an exclusive 2 hour show where they're playing entire Blackwater Park so it's kinda worth it. It's still too expensive but oh well...
I think i have found a friend who can drive us to Essen from Eindhoven, which means we won't even have to stay there overnight and can just drive back...

It's a pity you won't go, would be nice to meet you! :)

According to their Myspace, they'll play a show in 013, Tilburg on February 12, 2010 !! See you there, Elvina :)
