013 is a great venue! I am sure Opeth are not gonna play the "kleine zaal" but the biggest of the three halls - which isn't seated (neither of them are)

what a day yesterday: one moment i'm sitting in the dentist's chair undergoing some heavy treatment, less than an hour later i'm headbanging at a death metal gig without almost any feeling in my mouth...:zombie:
gee, metal gigs on tuesday are not much of fun for the bands playing: i believe there were not more than 30 people in total at yesterday's Swallow the Sun, Insomnium and Omnium Gatherum show. It was really weird to see the venue so empty
I have to say, Swallow the Sun was the band i went for, the other two i wasn't familiar with at all. And they were both a great surprise!! Omnium Gatherum was the opener, and they were really good! The guitar solos were really impressive!! It's a pity they had to play for something like 20 people, they deserved more attention, though the small crowd were quite enthusiastic.
Second were Insomnium, which i haven't heard before either. I must say, they stole the show of the headliner, Swallow the Sun, if you ask me. They were really great, even though the vocals should have been set much louder as you almost couldn't hear it at times... They were definitely the highlight of the evening for me, though maybe it's partly because i thought the vocalist was cute

Then there were Swallow the Sun. I liked their new release quite a lot, but a little bit less their live performance. It was still quite decent though, my only complaint is how stiff they were, almost no interaction with the audience at all, and they hardly even said a word... They played very good though! but that energetic enthusiasm on stage was missing sadly...

oh boy i can't fckin believe this...
i have people to go with me to Essen to see Opeth, i have good timing, i have money for the tickets and the road, i have transportation planned... and what do you know?! i cannot go because we don't have a fckin creditcard to process the ticket payment?!
oh man, i'm so pissed off right now i could explode!!! this is unbelievable!
i'm going to take a cold shower and try to figure out where i can get hold of a (person with a) creditcard in the next 12 hours, because the show is almost sold out...
Ha ha, yeah I could feel your eyes boaring into my neck...
All I can say is, undecided as of yet. Saw Ulver this summer, and I liked it but actually don't know them that well, and me girl (who is more of a fan) was thoroughly dissapointed, since she is in no way a fan of the newer era. I suppose I should go, as I have a feeling that this is one of those bands where when I miss the chance, I then end up hating myself for not going after I get to know them.
Some really shitty news though (completely unrelated). Have known for quite some time that Hardcore Superstar are playing KB tonight. Now, I couldn't give a rats ass about Hardcore Superstar, but around midday today we find out that Dia Psalma are supporting!
The ticket price is 300 Swedish crowns each, and combined with travelling and Bridge fee this is simply way too much (considering they probably play 30 minutes max), but oh man how I would love to see Dia Psalma tonight!!!
i wanted to buy it at the post office at first too, but i was told it's not possible anymore. So i have ordered from the site as well, and got those self-print tickets by email. The "funny" (read: outrageous!) thing about that is that the "service costs" for the internet ordering and printing the tickets on your own printer with your own ink are fckin 10,34 euro! so it all comes down to 30 euro per ticket, which is twice as expensive as usual... i wonder why?I have yet to receive my ticket for Ulver, they said it'll be sent out today. (like I said I initially planned to buy one directly from an outlet, post office in this case, but when I got there they said they don't sell concert tickets anymore. bastards! so I raced back home and ordered one from the Ticketmaster website..)
let me see...January and February 2010 will be great months, I'm gonna see Scott Kelly, Sunn O))), Hypocrisy (and Hatesphere) and Ulver!
oh and not to mention Universal will be released.
aye, it's also the busiest list i've ever had, i believe. but then again, "going out" means "going to a concert" to me, and when you think of it this way, it's really not that much a lot of people i know go out at least once a week. I don't. They also go on a wintersport vacation 2-3 times per season + summer vacation, while i didn't go on a vacation this year at all. Maybe that makes up for it (i would love to go on a vacation too, but can't afford it right now )Nice list btw. I can't imagine going to that many concerts in such a short period of time. Most I've been to in one year is 6, that was in 2005. (Kreator, Soilwork, Arcturus, Opeth, Chimaira, Children of Bodom)
