(Hahahaha camel toe  ).

Saw Ulver last night. Not a big fan, but it sure was a really cool experience. As you may expect, very different from your average concert :loco:

Did you happen to notice how much the limited leatherbook tour edition of Shadows Of The Sun sells for? I plan on buying one when I'll see them next week, if it's not overly expensive (already have the album on cd and white vinyl, but having a tour edition that's limited to 200 copies worldwide would be super awesome  )

I can't wait to see Dark Tranquillity in March, this will be my fourth time. Actually, would be my most seen band. I'm just hoping since its the third to last day of the tour, that the merch isn't depleted. I know when I saw Nightwish they didn't have jack shit left and they are merch-whores...

My girlfriend and I are taking $200-$250 for merch, figuring two shirts and a hoodie a piece is possible...maybe something else. My t-shirt collection is getting bad. My DT 200...7 tour shirt is getting holes and one of my In Flames shirt is ratty as all hell. My Light This City shirt is in the best shape of everything...

After I dropped weight, I lost the ability to wear a lot of my old shirts which makes me cry. Had like 20 shirts, but don't like wearing baggy ass stuff.

And on a side note, if anyone knows where I can get a large At The Gates Suicidal Final Tour shirt, with the USA dates on the back, I want to buy that bitch!! Didn't have the money to buy it at the show.

Hmm, I saw it but I can't remember the price. Overall, the shirts, regular CD's and vinyls weren't too expensive though...

seeing Ulver on friday, yay!! :kickass:after reading that endless interview with them, i'm totally stoked to see them live myself! And even more curious to see the legendary Garm! even though i'm absolutely not a talk-to-the-bands-person, i would love to just look at him irl :worship:

oh, and it's my first concert this year :)

Ulver last night was great. Really an outstanding show, but I think it would have been better if it was not a seated concert. This felt more like we were all watching a movie instead of a performance of one of the best bands ever. Their set was way too short in my opinion, they only played for about 80 minutes. And it was too damn cold in the venue!! Maybe that was partly my fault.. should have worn more than just a Perdition City t-shirt, it was after all freezing outside.

Returned home with some phat loot; two tourshirts (one for me and one for Defiance ;) ) and of course the tour edition of Shadows of the Sun.

I can't believe I've actually seen Borknagar and Ulver..!! A year ago I wouldn't even dare to dream about that.

I think this was the whole idea! It was a true performance, a show indeed, and not just a concert. I on the contrary felt it would have been totally wrong if there were no seats and people would have been just walking around... i think i would have found it much more disturbing.

can't complain about the short set: we were able to watch through all of it, while we went with the grave expectation that we would have to miss more than half of the set because of the way too early last train (as usual). Which was luckily not the case at all, and we saw all of it!!! :kickass::headbang:
I somewhat spoiled the fun for myself by watching countless vids on youtube of the live shows of this tour before i went, so i knew what was going to happen.:oops: Besides, i had a setlist from another concert with me which they pretty much played yesterday too. Thanks to that, i have filmed what i wanted to film, will upload the vids later today/tomorrow.

I knew that they were not going play any metal nor any folk  so i wasn't so disappointed, but still a bit sad... The electronic stuff was great, Garm sings quite well live (no matter what they say), but i miss the heavier stuff...

Setlist:
Eos
Let the Children Go
Little Blue Bird
Rock Massif
For the Love of God
In the Red
Operator
Funebre
Silence Teaches You... (?, some parts)
Plates 16-17
Hallways of Allways (personal highlight of the show! ♥)
Porn Piece or the Scars...
Like Music
Not Saved

i didn't buy any merch as i'm totally broke...

Met and talked to Windvang there which was fun! :D Mark, you look different irl than on the pictures i've seen of you ;) much better hehe :p Guess what we've talked about: Borknagar!

Ouch! You did the unspoken rule of live-shows; Never wear the same t-shirt as the band's show you're attending!!! ;)
When I saw Ulver, I almost took my Perdition City-LS but quickly changed into one with the Arcturus-logo. Felt way more appropriate :D

Yes indeed, I am a good looking man hehehe ;) just kiddin'....Good to hear you saw the whole show!
I was really charmed by Garms vocals. In the studio he is dubbing a lot of stuff and also a lot of second and third vocals. Live it's not possible but he did sing really fine!
Their show really made me introvert. I was totally not interested in what happened around me. The music with the video guided my thoughts.

Seated shows are fucking lame. I had to see Blackmore's night like that and I refused to sit! I walked up to the stage and was dancing in front of the whole crowd with a big beer, the band loved me. Cool to hear you saw Ulver, too bad they abandonded all their black metal albums practically.

They should play at least 1 song from Bergtatt and a couple from Kveldssanger. I think their improvised version of I Troldskog Faren Vild made some months ago was great.

Yes!!! Old Ulver is still Ulver, despite whatever Garm thinks it was. If they were going to totally abandon those songs they should've just changed the band's name. I really like both old and new Ulver, but those old songs should't be abandoned at all.
