Maiden fans..let´s talk.

sorry for you too Kev lol
Come on Guys you gotta take more listens to the old stuff, way better.
Maybe I'm a bit old, I started listening when they released Fear of the dark back in 92, but goddamn old 80's stuff is so much better.

cheers :)

No problem, I didn't mean to offend anyone, if so I'm sorry ;)
Stop smoking sigarettes, just smokes smarties lol (check the offtopic session http://www.ultimatemetal.com/forum/off-topic-tavern/507153-wtf-wrong-kids.html)

cheers

I'll get ye!!!! That album was great Mao, you must listen more :D

Yeah...Kaomao, you should give BNW another fair chance :) Especially the first 3 songs on the album are to kneel down :worship:

Certainly it cannot reach the level of Maiden´s ssoass, but it comes very close to some great classics concerning quality. In a couple of years BNW will also be a classic, I´m sure :)

The Brave New World tour has very fond memories for me - not only was it the reuniting of Bruce and Adrian to the fold, but it was the first metal concert that I took my step-son to. I married my wife back in `97 and at the time, my step-son (age 16 in 2000 - my wife is a few years older than me :)) was into most things Nu-Metal (KoRn, Disturbed,...) he had shown little interest in more traditional forms of metal such ar NWOBHM, Thrash, Death Metal, ...).

But that all changed by taking him to an August 8th, 2000 show at the Dodge Music Center in Hartford, CT. He was unsure ahead of time about going, telling me that Iron Maiden were "old" But like my first Maiden show back in `82, Iron Maiden rocked his musical world that evening! The next day he asked me if he could borrow their back catalog or discs to which he listed to them back to back for days on end. He has never looked back since then, it opened up a whole new world for him musically, one with Slayer, Megadeth, Exodus, Metallica, Judas Priest, Accept, Sabbath, ... and of course Iron Maiden.

Since that night, him and I "talk" metal, we share discs of bands we like, and even now that he's 25 and all grown up and out of the house, we still get together to see Maiden each and every tour. BNW and Maiden is a bridge between us, one that allowed me to pass along heavy metal from one generation to another, and will always hold a special spot in my heart - not necessarily my favorite Maiden album (it is in my top 5), but the one I'll always have a very special feeling for. :headbang:

Yet another reason why Maiden is my all time favorite band.

I like that album a lot but I'll never put it on the second spot ;)
Maiden for life! I love maiden!

What´s that?! Dude, I´m nearly 30 years old...fucking know the old tunes more than everything else. After all the Balze Bailey disappointments, "Brave new World" was like a wet dream coming true for me :)

How can you opinions (made out of emotions) call into question? This is my true, individual opinion and I stand by them. Brave New World has something special for me personally.

I am a 36 year old git and i also think Brave New World up there with the best albums!

That is great. Look at the professionalism of Dickinson. I was expecting him to be running all over the place, but he knows its not his band and takes a back seat, unleashes some Bruce tone and thats all he had to do. What a fucking gentleman. I suspect the rest of Maiden would be similar, I can not say enough good stuff about this band, they are the "ducks guts".:worship:

+1000!!!:kickass:

Iron Maiden fans had a hard time in the 90´s after Bruce´s leaving. I cannot describe in words, how I felt, as I heared the first songs of Brave New World. It was like..."you have lost a beloved friend and after years of sorrow the friend really comes back"!

HUGE Maiden fan here! :headbang:
Got into IM in 87 with Killers. Several years ago I met them (got an autograph from the whole band) at the Musikmesse in Frankfurt... this was like a dream coming true. I almost ran into Nico as he was carrying a hi-hat to some demo booth.

But I honestly haven't heard Dance of Death because a former bandmate (freaking biggest Maiden fan in the world :Smug:) told me it's the first IM album he sold right after listening to it for the first time. :erk:

My top 3:

1. Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
2. Killers
3. The Number of the Beast

Hi Mann! Und Hoch die Eisen :kickass:

I also met Nicko Mc Brain on the Frankfurter Musik Messe 1997! He played with a premier drumkit and I was like shocked :worship: I was 16 years old...I didn´t had the balls to talk with him..FUCK!!! Today I don´t have problems to talk with "celebrities"..(I had a dispute with Billy Milano )

A question..why your bandmate sold the album after listening to it only 1 time?! That´s kind of superficially. "Rainmaker", "Montsegur", "Paschendale" and the last song of the album are solid Iron Maiden songs imo.

Hehehe... Met Nicko at the Musikmesse in '97, too. Did the Wayne's World bit :worship: , got a handshake and an autograph. Needless to say, I left my right hand unwashed for quite a while :D I'd probably be 1000 times more nervous if I met one of the guys today. I always loved the songs to death, but progressing as a musician made me realise how bloody good each of the blokes is on his instrument (and that includes Janick). Favorite band. No contest.

Ähhhmmmm wow..then you was the guy, who...maybe we was in the same room  He represented the PREMIER drumkit with a couple of other musicians. I saw someone who get the sign from him..maybe this was you.

Uh... my bad - I meant Nicko instead of Nico!:err:

And yes, I was really shocked too. Hahaha it was funny to see how small Bruce is in real life. I mean he was/is one of my "BIG" heroes...

Your're right but I kinda trust him when it comes to IM. This guy IS Iron Maiden. But I'll ask him... Maybe its time to check out Dance of Death myself.:Smug:

Trust yourself :) I´m sure, you´ll have an own opinion about the album. Maybe you dig it..who knows? I know very much people, who like DOD, but I do not really.

I really would like to know, where the fuck it is...I´ll start a call :D

Exactly this image was on the shirt!! With red and white print in awesome good quality (not like the shirts of today).

No way dude! I fucking bought this t-shirt when I was in france when I was 10! (back in 93) I still have it and it so faded.

That was actually the second Maiden shirt I owned. A couple of years before that I had the one below, although it was all black rather than white with british flag stuff on it.

Been a Maiden fan since 1982. I actually liked Paul's voice better than Bruces at the time. So when they changed singers, it took me a while to be sold.I think the last album I bought was 'Fear of the Dark'. After Adrian left the first time, I felt they lost there 'hooks', so to speak. As far as the new stuff, what I heard just doesn't kick me in the gut like the earlier recordings. I really like Martin 'Headmaster' Birchs' productions. Not so much for Caveman Kevin Shirleys. Still a good band though, and probably one of the best live EVER!
