Just got one as payment for a studio session.
It is about the same size as my recto cab but has 4 celestion G12-K100 speakers.
Miced it up for the first time using Cannibalbarnes brilliant machine head cover.
TS808>6505>cab>57&421 on different cones>API mic pres.

Initial impression is I love it.
Very different midrange than the recto or my 1960av.
Very clear and less scooped with less fizz.
I will have to spend more time with it but think I will be using this a lot.
I believe Jens Bogren uses one of these a lot, including on Ghost Reveries.
I will make impulses when I have time.

Here is the test.

Same song with Rectifier cab.

Really looking forward to opinions on this sound.

Check my post in the practice room thread to download the raw guitar tracks for both cabs.

Great cabs. Played through one live a few times, and they really kick in the lows. But they're not flubby like V30's and T75's can sometimes be.

I have a custom made Zilla with K-100s and I much prefer it to V30s, at least with my 5150, I have not managed to get it to play well with Mesa amps yet.

I would be eternally grateful if you make a bunch of kickass IRs with it!

The chuggs sound great! I also dig the cutting upper-mids of the Mesa, though.

I wish Marshall still offered those. Is yours an MF400A or B?

Got to the studio early today to have further tests with this.
Wanted to try and get the Opeth sound which was apparently triple rectifier to mf400.
Used Jaymz's Deliverance DI pack and it sounds great.
TS808 > Triple Rectifier > cab > 57 > API
Superb clarity in the mids and no fizz :)

I am seriously considering combining the K100s and V30s in an x pattern in my Recto Cab and the MF400 by swapping 2 cones.
I think the combination of the 2 under 2 mics would be killer.
I feel that the K100 is missing a bit of presence compared to a V30.
Won't have time to do that this week but will report back when I get time to try it.

I thought the same of my G12k's. They sound a bit hollow on their own. They work great combined with V30's.

Yep, I've got a Diezel FL412 and a Laney Iommi both with G12K100's & V30's in X Pattern. The speaker combination and more solid construction of the cabinets (both are built from seriously dense material), makes them sound immense.
