actually, to be honest, i did buy my 7 string because of nevermore, the first time i ever saw or heard them, was when i saw them live, opening for Type O Negative here in seattle, they had an enemies of reality backdrop, and they totally ripped it up. i bought a 7 not long after, jeff loomis is a big influence on me, he's a great guitarist(in many ways better than alexi), and he's got some insane riffs and leads.

I agree. Loomis is incredibly talented, Alexi is too though. I just happen to prefer the stylings of Loomis.

alexi is a pretty damn good guitarist as well, but especially after the new album from both bands, i much prefer loomis. loomis' leads on the new album are insane, and actually fit the songs, unlike some of his older leads, and the songwriting on the new nevermore album is second to none, i think steve smyth helped a little with that as well.

Without a doubt. Steve Smyth is brilliant, and i think his song writing fits pretty seamlessly into the bands sound. After catching them live, i also find him to be an great guy in general. Has alot to say and really loves his metal!

Man, that was a reasonable statement. But seriously in a fucking Adult point of view the way you are getting on is stupid. I actually like Nevermore. I am saying this shit to try to piss you off because you are an idiot. Loomis is a big influence on you, Laiho is a big influence on me. You went and bought a 7 string guitar because of Loomis, I like Are You Dead Yet. It's all personal preference man. Loomis is not "Better" then Alexi, nor is Alexi "Better" then Loomis. It's all personal Preference. You "Hate" Are You Dead Yet. It doesn't mean it sucks, It just isn't the type of music you enjoy. It's an opinion, not a fact.

you're one of the many people who take me too seriously, as i've said before, i really do think AYDY sucks, but i only keep this up because the response is great. if it weren't for people like me this place would be nothing but an alexi dicksuckfest.

i really think steve smyth has completed nevermore, and i hope he goes on with them for as long as they are a band, which i also hope is a long time... they are also one of the few bands i really think deserves a little more mainstream appeal, because i don't think they would dumb down their music to get there
