Meet and greet is a big fucking scam!!!

I almost forgot about meeting the ORIGINAL Testament at Jaxx. They did a reunion tour, too, they didn't hipe up some lame fanclub and meet and greet's. They just stayed after the show and signed anything and everything people had brought. Talk about giving back to the fans. It is looking like the Bay area thrash bands are two up on the Right Coast, so far.
 
I saw Skid Row sans Sebitchin, and they invited everyone to hang out with them after the show at the bar at the hotel they played at. Had to work next day so I couldn't stay, I wish I had though.
 
Interesting Conversation. Meet & Greets always have sucked! You never get to meet the band the way you want to anyway. Just your typical hey how ya doin? Can you sign this? I'm you biggest fan. Thanks. See ya later.

So in reality are you really missing something? I really don't know.

To blame this on the guys in Anthrax is wrong. They really don't know what is going on and schedules can change at the last minute. Plus, They are not headlining so they are stuck with the rules of the headlining act.

An explanation or an apology would be nice. But really I don't think it is expected.

I have been in and out and around the music business enough to know things never go as planned and that's just the way it goes.
 
I have an interesting story. Back when Ripper Priest played in Prague (Demolition tour), there was my friend, pretty hot girl and a huge Priest fan, in the front row. Suddenly, Ripper came closer to the pit and shook her hand. In a second, there was another guy, some kind of tech or so, telling her she had been chosen to meet the band after the show. So when it was over, she and few other hot girls were waiting there, she wouldn't admit it but I bet she was all excited and in doubts what to tell her BF in case the things went an interesting way. But anyway, she and the other girls were invited backstage then, and there was some guy telling them: "Sorry girls but the band is tired and they went straight to the hotel room. If you want, you can eat something." So she was a bit disappointed but at least she got away without any aftermath problems :)

I can't remember her last name. She's a redhead but I don't even know if that's the real color of her hair because she's 100% shaved downstairs. She's a little loco but wild in the sack !!

If I see her friend that's still here in the states, I'll get her email. I never got to say bye to her before she left America. I think she might have been mad at me. She's a lifeguard at my pool. She probably saw me with some other chick but I had every right to because I saw her some other dude. Which is why I say she's loco. I live in DC and she lives in Prague. How serious did she think our relationship was gonna get?

I feel if you spend you're hard earned money supporting a band for 20+ years (even through all the line-up changes) and then you get treated like this after paying money for a stoopid fan club (come on I'm 34 years old, a little old to be getting psyched up about a freakin fanclub, unless therer is another motive behind it. I joined it because I thought it was a SURE fire way to meet the whole band. I have meet so many bands at jaxx without a fanclub. I met all of Exodus on Tempo of Damned with Souza (nice guys who enjoyed talking with the fans).

Not sure where I am going with this, but since I'm here, Go buy the new Exodus it kicks fuckin ass even with a (almost) whole new band, Gary Holt is still an awesome guitarist (who played at Jaxx, sick as a dog and still meet with the fans before and after the show).

Exodus Fuckin Rocks, Anthrax Fuckin Sucks. I hope Armored Saint makes an Awesome come back so when Joey gets sick of putting up with Charlie and Scott, Jon can tell them to SOD OFF.

What would you say to the kid who is 14 or 15 who signed up the fan club with his allowance money or money from this part time job, waited for the meet and greet and didn't get it. Your whole deal has been age and age has nothing to do with it.

im 14 and i signed up with my allowance. but i didnt know anything about the m&g till after i signed up, i was pretty dissapointed but im hella happy scott took me behind the stage for the rest of the show cuz he saw i was gettin my ass kicked, they were all really nice for the few moments i talked to them

Even though it wasn't a meet and greet, thats an awesome story to tell. I'm sure that hasn't happened to many people. My friend and I went to see Faith No More and she took her like 8 year old niece with her. Even though it wasn't the band, security saw that her neice was getting knocked around and took her over to the side of the stage for the show (I say next time leave your neice home). Anthrax said they will be back again next year so hopefully things will be straightened out with these meet and greets and you can sign up for that one.

I understand the frustration, but getting angry at the band and telling everyone that they suck because the M&G was a bummer doesn't help!
