Check out The Haunted. Look for songs like In vein,Hollow ground, Undead and Chokehold. They are a killer band! The Björler twins who play guitar and bass used to be in At the gates, but I guess all of you metal freaks knew that.

Dark Tranquilliy is really good, pretty much anything out of Gothenberg is good, but one of the best MD bands I've ever heard is Blo.Torch. Brutal as fuck at times, melodic as they come other times, and blend thier music perfectly. You might also check out Sentenced.

Sentenced is awesome, great band. I recently bought The Cold White Light and listen to it almost every day, I love it.

All of Sentenced's stuff is really good, all though their style has changed quite a bit. North From Here was strcitly a death metal release, while The Cold White Light borders on Folk Metal.

I am good when it comes to melodic power/prog metal. Bands more along the lines of Symphony X. Here are some...

Blind Guardian, Gamma Ray, Stratovarius, Edguy, Dream Evil, Steel Attack, Iron Savior, Metalium, Helloween, Zandelle, Grave Digger, and Hammerfall.

Vesperian Sorrow... the BEST fucking symphonic black metal ever... very melodic, very epic... NOONE can say they love melodic metal of any kind (black metal or not) until they've heard this amazing act from Texas!
