Merging 2 MIDI tracks in Reaper is a fucking pain in the ass

In Reason, I click on my track, hit "add new lane", drag the motherfucker up there and re-click the track to get "merge lanes".

In Reaper, I can't even select the notes from a clip and paste it in the track above.
WTF really.

you should be able to select the notes from one midi track, copy them, and then paste them into another midi track. I do this all the time when programming drums.

Open the MIDI file, click timeline at the very start (0). CTRL+A to select all MIDI notes, CTRL+C to copy. Close the first MIDI file. Open second MIDI file, click timeline at 0 again. CTRL+V to paste. Done.

you can simply drag your second midi track to be parented under your main. If I'm understanding right what you wanted to do. Or make send midi from one channel to other.

Well, actually, let's say I export a .mid from guitar pro and I want to combine the Organ solo and Harpsichord solo in Reaper to be able to re-import back it into a single track, say piano.

Export as midi type 0, not type 1 (I'm neither a gp or a reaper user so you have to figure that one by yourself but the merging option are probably in the export midi dialog)

Midi files exported from guitar pro usually have additional information like Program Select or Chorus Level which might create difficulties. And in my experience most GP exported midis had all notes an octave below from what I was expecting.
Make sure to set channel to 1 for all notes.

Another way to copy stuff is just to place one media item over another, marquee select both of them and use Reaper's glue feature.

Thanks for all the help, gluing seems to do the job okay.
The best thing would be to be able to create a 2nd lane, place the clip where I want, and then glu/fuse the 2.
Is there a way to add lanes in the MIDI tracks ?

Not sure about adding lanes, but you could use a Folder in the same way, sort of. Yes you would have multiple tracks of midi, but they would both be sent to the same parent track with your VST on it.

Is there a way in reaper to get rid of this Information at once? Or is the only way to go through all the tabs, program, Pan, etc... And highlight and delete the stuff???

But +1 for the glue function to glue the midi items
