The new Metal Church is great. Kinda like Overkill's The Electric Age in that it's surprisingly consistent in its old-school speed metal aggression, but the difference being that the songs are actually good.

Hey guys, I've been completely out of the loop since RIITIIR and Incurso, has anything really good happened? I'm up for anything, but mostly black and death. I like crossovers with thrash too, I see that Skeltonwitch and Toxic Holocaust (are releasing, my bad)* albums, I'll be sure to check them out. But anything else I should know about?

Check out the new Autopsy, Deeds of Flesh, Defeated Sanity and Suffocation albums. New Carcass is pretty good too. Also check out Perversions and Blasphemy by Execution, it's thrash but you might dig it.

Oh, and Colored Sands which is my AOTY by far.

Not really. I can't think of much great black metal since Engram off the top of my head.
